I'm still surprised McKenna gave up his opportunity to get his degree from Stanford.
I think he did get his degree from Stanford. Even if he didn’t it doesn’t really matter, his father is loaded. He’s the head guy at Hunter Roberts Construction Goup. I’m sure Joey has a pretty good gig waiting for him when he’s done completing

It's useful to remember that Nolf:

Has four losses, not three like Taylor, but one was due to sloppy officiating that allowed him to be injured.
Has ten more pins than Taylor (60-50)
Has three NC's, not 2.
Was never himself, pinned.

Had he won a 4th NC, there'd be no question he'd have been the best Lion. Similar can be said for Nickal.

In a hypothetical draft of all-timers:

In no order, I'm picking Nolf, Nickal and Boone before Taylor. If Carter gets No. 5, he's the fourth before Taylor.

It would be a toss-up between Taylor and Zain.
Y'all sleeping on David Taylor AND Zain? Cray.

SmDh

For real though, it's an interesting case.

If you go by career bonus rate, this is really your top 5 in the Cael era

1) Taylor (91)
2) Nolf (86)
3) Nickal (77)
4) Ruth (76)
5) Zain (75)

If you go by bonus rate in their last 3 years, because let's remember Zain took an unbelievable leap offensively after his redshirt...

1) Nolf (96)
2 Taylor (94)
3) Zain (87)
4) Ruth (82)
5) Nickal (80....but Bo had the best pinning percentage)

None of these guys had any truly bad losses. For example, probably the worst loss by any was when Ruth lost to Mike Letts but Letts was a multi AA.

Me personally, I'm taking Zain primarily because I think he's what Iowa wishes they were.
