Anyone following this one? If there's interest, I can post some match-by-match results, maybe some commentary on anything seemingly interesting of note. Nothing too sophisticated, though, as I do want to watch the wrestling.

Iowa nuts if they play games with Desanto. He’s a 133 and a nightmare matchup for people.

you not feeling 100% or a little sick and this kids gonna make you pay and if you’re feeling great it’s going to be a war

OK. Enough Iowa love for me but I do like watching Lee and DeSanto wrestle

Agree with this 100%

I think he was trying to jump over for a go behind but the whistle blew at the same time. In a freeze frame it looks bad like he was just sitting on the Iowa State guy but if you watch the whole sequence that's not what really happened.

Feel bad for Degan there. Thought he was the better man today. Without the locked hands call he wins going away

Listening to Iowa’s radio broadcast Degan did nothing all match.

What I don't understand is why the ref didn't call the locked hands when it supposedly happened. Instead he waits until after Degan scored 4 points and then decides to call a penally. That's the kind of stuff that makes you call into question the integrity of the ref.

Carr-Young lived up to its billing. Some really good TD defense by Young most of the match, but Carr got him at the end, including a cradle-lock and turn (broken as soon as back exposure started) for a 2-count as time was nearing expiration. Combined with a stall call, it ended up being a 5-pt move to break the 1-1 tie late.

I thought Degan was underwhelming, but he pushed the pace more than Lugo.

Wow, Spencer and DeSanto were in beast mode. Looking sharp and swarming. I do agree with @amattaro's assessment of DeSanto's antics at the end tho. DeSanto even shoved the ref's hand off his arm. Surprised he didn't get a penalty point.

Big win by Carr over Young. Thought he was going to stick Young there at the end. Impressive.

What did he do

As time was expiring and he was trying to get one last TD, he did a sort of jump over & spin to squat on his opponent (who was on all fours at that time). Certainly an awkward way to secure a takedown (hands-free) . . . his opponent took it as a slight and stood up to buck ADS off of him. Official intervened, leading both guys to the middle by the arm for handshake. He held ADS' arm, who then tried to push the officials grasp away. Looked like a warning was signaled.

Degan got unlucky on multiple calls and I'm pretty sure everyone knew Young was gonna lose. Definitely way overrated

I don’t know about over rated but I agree most saw Carr wining that one. Typical low ranked stud freshman against seasoned vet that earned a higher ranking to start year.

Will be similar when Beard comes in.

Marinelli (Dec) & Kemerer (MajDec) win with TD games.

Iowa sends Brands out for #5 Colbray @ 184.

Nice match by Brands, Colbray couldn't finish on a couple takedowns, good battle

oh man Nbrands takes out #5. That will get them back up over 160pts this season.

All kidding aside that was f** to watch and really thought Brands was going to be out horsed but he was patient, moving forward and had great conditioning. Not sure his future is at 184 but he is more entertaining than $$$

Based on how they do their rankings (which is dumb IMO) I see what you mean so I guess my comment is more that Carr shouldn't have been 19

Brands wins 4-3 TB1.

If you haven't watched this kid wrestle, start doing so. Quick, tough, and a throwback to his old man's era. Cool stuff.

Not sure why Colbray didn’t try to put a ride on him. He had a decent ride in the third. 30 second ride out to OT2.
