Is this the year Iowa does NOT win midlands???

Iowa might win on bonus points, by having a few more heavies throw Stoll onto their chests Illinois-style.

Seems as if the author is basing his prediction on Anthony Valencia outscoring Marinelli. I know AV pinned him last year, but I would be pretty surprised if that outcome is repeated. It's a fun breakdown though, so kudos to Flo for that.

I think Iowa's almost loss to Illinois has made it conceivable to many that Iowa will lose an unexpected match (which I will define as someone other than Okie St, PSU, or the Tanners) during the course of the season or fall short at Midlands. The perception is that Iowa is going to have a down year, by their standards. And maybe this is true! Flo made a decent case on why they could lose to Rutgers (which I didn't buy into because LHU, lol). It's possible that they could lose to Michigan, but the Wolverines looked terrible against Lehigh. So I see Iowa with 3 losses when it's all said and done. That doesn't change the fact that Iowa is still a very solid team, and I can't bet against them at Midlands.

Linked article has Iowa 13.5pts @165 vs ASU with 10pts

Thanks, I missed that. Flo is hedging their bets a bit then. Here's a quote from the article:
"Additionally at 165, Anthony Valencia pinned Alex Marinelli last year in the third place match, so it is reasonable he outplaces him again".

Actually, the rules were changed regarding team scoring. Now, the best attached wrestler per weight scores (basically, same as Scuffle). Rule 4, Section 8, Article 5.
