Isn't it common sense that it would be more difficult to get 13 players through the portal than it would be to get 6?

Shrews did well by getting Pickett, Wynter, Funk, and Henn but he also relied on recruits to stay. Pitt & Wake Forrest had success rebuilding through the portal but it wasn't all 13 players.

At most, you take 8-10 players this year and bank the rest of the scholarships for next year. They can't all be in their last year of eligibility, or you are just kicking the can down the road and are in the same place next year. $.02

Kansas State had an all portal team and were forecasted to finish last in the B12 so it can be done.

We are also getting to the end of everyone having a 5th year. After next season the portal will look a lot different when looking to get 3 or 4 grad transfers.

Hopefully Rhoades gets a couple of the 2022 class players to stay. And then with 6-8 transfers and some walk on's he'll have a roster. But it doesn't seem rational to take 10 transfers as transfers are coming to play, and most coaches have a hard time playing 10 players regularly. And if Njie, Mahaffey and Cleary would all stay (unlikely), they are staying to play as well. Maybe not 20+ minutes for every one of them, but Mahaffey will be playing 25+ minutes for what ever team he plays for next season.

The makeup of the transfers will be interesting. Rhoades' teams at VCU were very athletic and it seemed every player on the floor was capable of in your face man-to-man defense. Would a player like Cohen fit in with that style? I see Njie as much more able to play the way Rhoades likes to play than a big man that can shoot and post up but with limited athleticism.

Transfers are NOT all in their last year. They can have 4 years left. Pickett had two. Njie and mahaffee have three.
