Levi Haines - Committed to Penn State

In the finalist list for Bouzakis and Jesse Mendez. They're the 2 best remaining guys in 2022, but likely both at the same weight -- 141 or maybe 149. Not getting both. Hopefully get 1.

Finalist for Rylan Rogers and Bennett Berge. They're both in the 184/197 range. Probably an underdog for both, especially with Brady retired.

Have heard Dayton Pitzer is very interested. Not sure if mutual. Probably a 197, maybe HWT? Either way, likely logjam already.

Same with Kolby Franklin except definitely a HWT.

Plus whoever else Cael finds that the board doesn't think of.

Not 2022, but surprised Carson Manville (2021 184/197) has not committed. We all assumed it was a foregone conclusion when the family moved to State College.

Also surprised Jake Kaminski (2021 HWT) is uncommitted. Past world team member. Visited PSU but that was pre-Kerk, not sure if still interest in either direction. Also not committed for football.
Didnt manville reclassify to the 2022 class?

Sorry, not buying that. He's currently lifting and eating his way up to his World Team weight -- 71 kg / 156.2 lb.

I find it hard to believe he won't go up at least one more weight in 1 year of HS + 4-5 years of college. Especially with his dad being a college 197.
Worst case Haines eats his way into 65 just as Facundo grows into a 174 and everyone bumps a weight post Brooks. Sound good?

i'm not convinced that Haines' weight is stabilized yet, that he would only go up to 165. Maybe, but too soon to tell with any confidence. His dad and uncle both wrestled at higher weights at Lock Haven than they did at Gettysburg HS.

IMO this is another case of loading up with world-level talent that fits the team culture, and the weights will take care of themselves.

Hawk fans. And btw, I'm done with HR.

Lmao. I don't know, but I just read the "slush fund" thread. Holy sh&t, did smalls rip them a new ass. We should have a poll on the dumbest or most ignorant poster over there. I damn near spit out my beer reading it. God bless them, and God bless Willie for all his recruiting help. 🙏

Not a lot of openings or soft spots, minus injuries of course, and it doesn’t include Seth Nevills but definitely a possible 4 yrs lineup. Next year Steen in while Howard recoups??? Bartlett at 141, NLee at 149, Barraclough at 157, Dean at 198. PSU youth vs Hawkeye vets.

Is his dad Josh Haines?

Ken is also wider than he is tall. Now, maybe that happens with Levi, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
LOL. Last pic I saw of Ken Haines, his neck might make 125, and his legs might make 133 and 141. Pretty sure I saw his back being used as a billboard.

Agree that Levi is unlikely to turn into that monster, but he'll be at 160 in 2022, and I wouldn't bet on him holding 157 for 4+ years after that.
