Ridge Riley award winner is Jan Johnson. Interesting
Gotta feel tremendous for Johnson. Wow, you could see he was dead late in the 2nd, but gutted it out. 2 weeks in the room, giving up 55 pounds and 3 years in a D1 room. Just a great job.
his flurry for the takedown just zapped him. Anyone that needed to see the difference in football vs wrestling shape saw it tonight. Jan gutted that out and could easily be a .500 wrestler this year which is impressive by any measuring stick. Will take his lumps, but my guess he will be night and day between now and late February.
Outstanding match, lock haven is not the sisters of the poor. Their kids were just broken, many whom we have watched in HS that I would never have guessed would look like they did.
this team is on a mission. Will need to order more popcorn!!
So I know it may not really be Cael's style, but if the dual is in hand Sunday (which I think it will be), do you even run Jan out there? I can't see how it helps him getting whipped on by WalzAgreed, it will take him at least a good month or so to get into real shape . Hope Sunday isn't too painful for Jan
Rehm, McKinney, Sponseller, and Sprenkle are all tough. 3 of them are seniors. They combined for 2 pins, a TF, and a 13-2 MD. Woof.his flurry for the takedown just zapped him. 157: Nolf vs. McKinney
Comment: surprised that McKinney got in so deep on the 1 shot, but Nolf didn't seem bothered, and worked it to his advantage. I don't like to see legs given up so freely, but with his skill set Nolf may get away with that.

Impressive 1st dual for Nolf

I said the same thing last night. Gets your opponent to open up a bit by giving them an opening.Reminded me a little bit of DT who would every now and then give up a takedown to an opponent he probably shouldn't, but then come back and put 12 pts. on you in 1 minute.
