If you didn't know him, he was quite a story. There was a very famous radio talk show guy named Pete Franklin on for many decades. Triv was a common caller who got into epic fights with Franklin. In one battle, Triv told Franklin he could do his job with one hand tied behind his back and even better. A smaller station named WNCX called him and gave him some mop-up time. He was so popular, The station the mega station WWWE (WTAM at the time) called him and offered him a full-time job. This was Franklin's station so it meant something to him. Triv said sure and that led, eventually, to an afternoon rush hour show that has gone on for at least 30 years.

He was offered several opportunities to franchise his show but passed on them thinking the "suits" and national interests would dilute the local flavor he brought to the table. He was happy making his six figures. He was also very prominent in several holiday charity drives (coats for kids being one). He was certainly NOT for everyone but was very provocative and interesting. He often told you stuff you'd never hear from anyone else. He was completely non-affiliated and was happy hammering the Tribe, Cavs, Browns, tOSU, Democrats, Republicans, and anyone else from his point of view.

He was 74 and apparently died suddenly. His brother was a pro golfer and his son owns a prominent restaurant.

Back in my working days, I did a lot of driving to job sites, prebid meetings, etc.

Loved talk radio and Mike Trivisanno, aka Mr. Know-It- All, was one of my favorites.

I learned, being from Pittsburgh, that our local talk was rather tame. I heard Mike say once "the Pittsburgh Steelers will never win with Bubby Brister as their quarterback!" How true.

RIP, Mr. Know-It-All, you will be missed.

For non Cleveland people, Pete Franklin was an epic blowhard. Didn't hear much of him Mike, but I am sure he will be missed by his fans. Mike's brother Gary was on the PGA tour for a year or two and was a very long hitter.

A senior co-employee at the golf course where I worked loved Pete Franklin and I had to listen to him everyday.

Thank you for posting the passing of Triv. I enjoyed his musings many times as they filled the late afternoon with laughter, information and general enjoyment. Triv was a giving type person with his charitable proclivities noted in the story. I for one will miss him, he is irreplaceable. Someone will fill the slot but will never fill the soul he brought to the airwaves. Rest in Peace Triv.

Franklin was horrible. He was the first afternoon host on WFAN in NY when that station switched to all sports talk. He didn’t fit the New York style. Too much schtick.
