Wow. I really thought he was key to our title shot after losing Cassar. This would be a tremendous blow.
I have a daughter that was tremendous athlete. Suffered 3 concussions while playing varsity sports her freshman and sophomore year in high school. April 14 2011 she got kneed in head as soccer goalie. Was unable to go back to school that year because of headaches. We had to put flannel sheets on our windows because of light depervation.
We tried every possible treatment possible ,without much success. Eventually her headaches subsided and she went back to school the following year but had to give up contact sports. I bought her a tennis racquet and she ended playing Number 1 singles and won Silver medal in District Doubles.
Was offered a scholarship to play for West Chester but chose to concentrate on academics.
Let's pray Berge is able to recover so he can function day to day. Wrestling is secondary for him and his family.

I remember it was a lost translation but I think the Indian broadcasters thought he might have died on the mat. Absolutely terrifying moment and not remotely the typical concussion.
I was really concerned not as
much with the initial blow at U23s as I was with the continued action thereafter, where the match was not stopped and his body (and head) kept getting moved around. Obviously, I don't know the whole story, but I hope there was no long-term damage between that and whatever other subsequent action may be affecting him. Hate to see head injuries and their scary impacts.

I took the humble brag part more as an optimistic note that things can still turn out pretty well when your initial chosen sport must be abandoned.

While hopeful, I wasn't expecting much in the way of points out of Brady this year. He's gone 5-5 in his last 10 bouts and he has yet to notch more than a handful of notable career wins (ISU's Degen at 149 might be the only AA he has beaten?). To beat Iowa we will need the advancement points that come with wrestlers going deep in the tournament. Right now I would say Brooks, RBY and maybe Shak have the most potential to do this (along with Lee, Cenzo & Hall). In any case, I hope Brady gets healthy and proves me wrong.
He also won Jr and U23 trials in the last 2 years, and Jr World Bronze. Brady’s a great wrestler, but wrestling can’t be his #1 focus right now. I wish him the very best.

He’s 7-3 in the last 10 matches he wrestled. For the sake of comparison, that’s also Shak’s record in his last 10.
Whoa. Last I checked, people are entitled to express reasonable opinions here, even if they might not align with yours’. Is it really that far fetched to opine (based on his collegiate results so far) that Berge shouldn’t be counted on to score big points at NCAAs??? If you say so, Captain.
Going forward I'll be sure to tiptoe around this apparently "sensitive" topic of injured PSU wrestlers' potential to score significant points at NCAAs.

I don;t understand this type of response. You appear to be saying YOU are free to express your opinion, but no one is allowed to disagree with you. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is what it sounds like to me.
If you DVR a match on ESPN, make sure you add 1/2 hour or more to the time. Commercials between EVERY match is a guarantee that your recording will be short...unless there are a lot of 1st period pins.

Doubt he can attend a PSU practice, but he could participate with the NLWC. He surely meets the criteria, which consists of some variation of UWW Juniors finish, USA Wrestling Juniors finish, 16U finish, Cadet finish, or state freestyle or Greco finish. Maybe even state folkstyle finish, I'm unsure.
