MSU's starting QB and #1 WR to transfer

Haha! **** them

Keon would be a good WR to get. Definitely fits the mold of pushing for starting reps.

Paging Peggy. Still think Sparty is going to be tough?

Keon Coleman is somebody I’d definitely be interested in. Cephas and Coleman both would add some serious competition to the receiver room. Big time !!

Can we sign both, please? We need a legit QB battle to push Allar to be the best he can be. Thorne possesses a very similar skillset unlike Pribula who we hope never sees the field unless on a gadget play. Based on what we have seen on film, Coleman would likely be the best receiver we have had since Chris Godwin left the instant he enrolled.

I suspect Thorne will only want a situation where he is the clear number 1. I have no way of knowing if that’s true but I think it‘s likely. He’ll be a redshirt senior this coming season.

I agree. There’s no way he would come to PSU and be the back up.

You are almost certainly right. I can dream though. I want Allar to hit his potential but don't think he will without competition. I certainly don't want him on the field this year if he isn't ready either. Without another arm on the roster, that is what will happen if he isn't.

We all hope you are right.
The question is will he be a star this early in his career. The good news is he's supposed to have a good OL. The bad news us he won't have an All Conference WR unless someone breaks out.

Hopefully the OL takes a massive step forward in pass pro/blitz pickup and the running game remains strong, which can alleviate some of the pressure on Allar. It was good that the defense pressured him and the OL in the Spring game so they have no misconceptions about their need for improvement.

Would love to have Keon....doubt PSU can win the bidding war.
Even if we get Coleman...we are not even until an Offensive Lineman scores a meaningless td late in a rout, not to humiliate the opponent, but rather to celebrate a "tradition" that apparently his older brothers experienced.

F Mark D'Antonio. When we had our chance Franklin passed. Coach is a better man than me.

Let it go--we're the far superior football program--that's enough

Still maybe the most bush league thing we have experienced in the Big 10. Not unlike Doug Graber of Rutgers being pissed off at Joe when Mike McQuery took it upon himself to not run out the clock and instead throw a bomb to Chris Campbell. Wish we would've cut Big Red after that....hindsight.

Hindsight is always good lol
But, yeah, it was bush league but it's Michigan State. They don't know what they're doing. They were thinking "this will be fun" not how stupid it would look.

Lot's of QB's in the portal in the same situation right now - free agency is getting crowded.

Can you imagine the NFL or any other professional sport working like this. Everybody's a free agent every year.
Yep and it undermines the biggest draw to the fanbase which is loyalty to their school.

Could you imagine getting paid what NCAA executives make to kill off their product?

Thorne is a MASSIVE loss for 2023 Michigan State. This dude almost singlehandedly picked up a team with a mediocre OL, mediocre tailbacks, and an ATROCIOUS secondary and carried them to a near-winning season. Thorne is an excellent QB who simply "makes plays."

This is the biggest single transfer-out loss I believe I've ever seen for a college team.

A scholarship isn't real pay when you consider what the schools make. They're essentially working for free and have the right to go to any school they want for an education
High school kids pay $80k per year to go to IMG Academy so they can get an education and have their athletic skills developed. Are they being abused?

D1 colleges pay the kids by pproviding free tuition, room, board, spending money, and world class training (coaches, facilities, equipment) to develop their athletic skills. I'd hardly say they're working for free. I agree they have the right to hold wherever they want. I just think both parties should be bound by the scholarship/training agreement.
