any word on when the PSWC will be sending these out? Seems like it is usually by now.

SIAP....I used the search function and came up empty.

Just to take the heat off of the PSUWC but they don't send out the applications or process them or really have anything to do with them, the PSU ticket office does. Some time in September in recent years is when they came out.

The PSWC provides information to the Athletic Dept Ticket Office, so we are kind of involved early on. After that, it's all Ticket Office.

All I can say is that most everything is behind schedule, due to their efforts with football tickets, which went out this week. Still plenty of time, so no worries, though it appears it'll be later than last year.

As a Wrestling (and football) season ticket holder would I receive the notice for NCAA Wrestling Championship tickets or do I have to be am PSUWC contributor?

I always get notified with my wrestling season ticket renewal.

Is it just me, or does the new higher level of coverage make it a lot easier to miss seeing nationals in person? My son has two monitors for his job at his house, so we can have all 8 mats up at one time. It's a great setup.

nothing like being there. been going for 40 some years.

But have you done the 8 mats on two monitors? ;) I've only gone to nationals 7 times (1981, 1984, 1994, 1999, 2002, 2011 and 2016) but the 8 mats at a time thing with the ability to bring one mat up to full size when there is a match you want to watch is pretty awesome.

I received a email about suites today. Said they will be reaching out next week. So I would guess tickets should not be far behind

Having watched at home and at the venue, I have to agree that being there is the way to go. Yes, it is fun to get all amped up with family and/or friends and follow along on multiple devices and screens in the comfort of your own home (no cramped seats, no rigourous travel schedule) . . . but nothing beats the atmosphere of being there. Plus, TV doesn't do justice to the big roars from the crowd when there is a big upset in the making, or catch the cheers and ovations when an underdog lets it all loose in a noble and entertaining effort to knock off a higher-seeded guy, or really illustrate the crowd's respect for a fallen warrior.

I have attended Nationals only several times, but the majority of my most memorable moments in watching the tournament are while in attendance.

2011: Q pinning Gambrall, then slaying Honeycutt. A very young (6 yr-old?) PSU fan yelling "Be quiet you C's!!" at the Cornell section after a Dake win.

2014: Gwiz knocking off Nelson, and a PSU fan (wescr0611 from the FOS board) in the row behind me going absolutely nuts with joy.

2015: Moisey taking Gilman over in a cradle, and everyone (except Hawk fans) standing and shouting, and then erupting in unison as the fall was called. Terao throwing everything, including the kitchen sink (and a cartwheel!) at Tomasello. Standing-O for Ness as he defaulted out of the tournament.

2016: Nico finally champ. Zain gets his first. IMar-Nolf III.

On TV? I don't remember a whole lot, except Cael winning #4, Minnie's Ryan Lewis having the sickest arms of any 133-lber I've ever seen, wondering how OkieSt guys like Hendricks could keep pulling out so many wins, Josh Moore and Pat Cummins falling just short of championships, Caldwell over Metcalf, and really hating Chris Perry in 2013.

Yeah, I do still remember a lot from TV last year, but in another year or two, it will probably be reduced to Joseph's closing-seconds wins over Lewis, Massa, and IMar, and Nickal's sneaky step-over leg-hook on Dean to steal a quick 2 going OOB.

Seamed to me people were talking about NCAA tickets also. Guess if I do get info I will not waste my time posting it. Have great evening
No, post away...I was heading out and only had time for a quick response.

Here's "the rest of the story"...
-- The Athletic Department Ticket Office solely manages the NCAA Allotment of tickets
-- PSWC Members (on record), along with Season Ticket Holders, get applications
-- The Allotment Criteria is on the application

In addition to this, but completely separate, the PSWC may inquire about suite tickets with a venue, in the event demand far outstrips supply (NCAA Allocation), keeping in mind that the Ticket Office pursues additional tickets if there's a shortfall compared to applications. Philadelphia (2011), and NYC (2016) are the only years the PSWC provided members/fans with suite opportunities...which were the 2 years with the highest shortfall. Keep in mind, each venue's rules/practices re. suites is unique, and some are more accommodating than others. MSG was outstanding to work with, for example.

Then there's the whole $$$ thing, hence the recent inquiry to some members about this season's NCAA's. Right now (there is no "confirmed" price yet), the suites at Quicken Loans are more than double the price of suites in MSG.

It's getting stupid price-wise.

The price they told me it was going to be is over 2300 a person and nothing included. With drinks and food it would be around 2500. Crazy! I'm hoping people don't pay that amount and they drop the price. Time will tell

It's early...we'll see where the suite price ends up. Simple economics will kick in, supply v demand, etc.
