Wrestling NCAA Bracket Reveal Thread

Full brackets up on Track
Hildebrandt - 16
RBY - 1
Lee - 1
Bartlett - 13 (Would have No. 4 Sasso R2)
Berge - 16 (Another horrible draw, Carr R2)
Starocci - 1 (Tough draw with Labriola the 8. Hidlay and Kemerer 4/5)
Brooks - 2 (Amine the 1, Hidlay the 3)
Dean - 1 (Aiello/Norfleet R2, then Deprez/Caffey likely and Brucki/Nino the 4/5)
Kerk - 4 (Hendrickson the 5, Parris the 7 behind Wood, which is absurd)
Can you link it? I can’t find them

If Marinelli doesn’t make the semis this year he really messed up!
True statement ... I was hoping he'd draw Griffith or Kharchla lol.

For the hammers he could meet in the semis, I think O'Toole is probably the most favorable matchup for him.

Man, if you're Iowa or UM you have to be over the moon with your draws compared to PSU.

Kharchla losing twice at Big 10’s killed him.

O’Toole could get Valencia in the 2nd round
O’Toole is fun to watch, but damn, he can get really sloppy at times. I think he beats Valencia. Valencia looks “tired” to me and I don’t just mean “gassed” at the end of a match.

Brooks and Assad round 2?

We’re so screwed….

Bartlett to the semis! He's been close to Sasso and beat Parco. Am I doing this right?
You have to add something about him being able to score on anyone, but that he just needs to keep attacking.

We will need to do work on the backside big time. Bonus will be tough to come by for our hammers on the front side also. At least (knock on wood), we appear to be healthy. Let's dance.

Schultz sitting out the PSU dual changed the whole bracket. I'm guessing Kerk will finally beat Cassiopi in the 3rd place match.

Brackets are here...

Frankly, I don't see anything horrible. I don't quite understand the DeSanto thing, and will look at the brackets closer in the next several days, but overall not bad.

One thing missed by many (not all of you of course) is the fact that most of the hay is made in wrestlebacks. Keeping that in mind, one has to break down more than just the championship bracket.

O'Toole pinned Valencia this year and teched him last year at NCAAs. Never say never with AV, but I don't think he's worrying too much about that matchup.

From a quick glance, several early Iowa-UM matchups where they could split and alternate sending the other to consis. Plus, Murin gets Yianni early and Young would get Carr just 1 rd after Berge.
The consy deep dive will be interesting

This is coach-speak that I've never understood.

The best way to score team points is to win your weight. The next best way is to finish 2nd.

Of course only 20 guys can do that. For everyone else, the best way to make hay in wrestlebacks is to stay out of them for as long as possible.

If I were David Carr I wouldn’t want to wrestle Berge in round 2. While he clearly is favored Berge’s style and skill isn’t typically seen in round 2 by the top seed.
