NCAA's brackets, seeds and other discussions

Multiple possibilities we may see Cael v DT coaching vs each other in critical matchups:

Everyone has circled:
174: Levi v Hamiti, probable 2/3 semi.
285: Kerk v Henderickson, probable 2/3 semi.

But also lurking:
184: Starocci v Plott, possible 1/4 semi
141: Bartlett v Jamison, possible 2/7 quarter
165: Mesenbrink v Amine, possible 1/8 quarter.
Amine is already practicing the circle shuffle 😏

Ayala-Bouzakis could be before that. Puncher’s chance and all ..
Ayala isn't going anywhere near Bouzakis. Take him down let him up. Bouzakis is dangerous for anyone who has not felt him...or Davis of course 😂
Kai Orine could take Bouzakis out in the first round. He finished 7th last year. He started the year at 141 and dropped back to 133 in December.

Does anyone else realize just what these seeds have done to MSU158s math laboratory? The poor thing has to go back down there and spend 12 hours a day until next Thursday working out new equations and dissertations because Kerk didn't get the 4, and we got qualifiers for the one seeds in round one in 4 different weight classes, with favorable draws in 8 out of 10 weights.

The poor guy is over there now wringing his hands with textbooks and studies scattered everywhere
Imagine how much time he’ll waste once he learns how to read them.

Best in recent memory. 125-141-157-165-174-184-285 all will make the finals if they wrestle "great". 149 and 197 worst case scenario 3rd. 133 mid AA. What a fu$$ing team!

Not feeling a mid-AA @133. BD went 4-2 at B1Gs for a 4th place finish. At Nationals, only 4 of the top 8 seeds are from the B1G. The math suggests that it is 50/50 whether Braeden makes it past the Blood Round imho. He won B1Gs last year and pretty much flopped at Nationals, so going 4-2 at B1Gs this year.....

Nasir Bailey gets the 3...hmmm....let's see if we get Bailey vs Ayala...
Interesting match. Bailey isn't going to bore in so no throw by. Without the cheap TD Ayala can't wrestle from a knee and will have to chase a retreating Bailey. If I was game planning this one I would tell Ayala to center and circle, chose down for the escape and in the third look for Bailey to come out of his retreat and step forward in small increments. His throw-by should be there in the 3rd.
Be willing to take the 1-0 win.

Feels like it will be Oklahoma State or Nebraska.

Iowa, with a weak 125, no 141 (edit), Teemer vs Shapiro Rd 2, Arnold doing Arnold things . . . .
Iowa needs to peak to take 2nd I feel.
If Kueter (nice path) & someone else goes on a serious run, Iowa could finish 2nd.
Since Iowa has managed 1 second place finish when PSU is winning the team title i am going with Iowa consistency and figuring they finish 3rd or lower.
Nebraska or Okie State. Heck, if Cornell has a great tournament they could slide into second like last year.

Bouzakis pinned him in 50 sec last year ... but that could've been a quick cradle for him, not necessarily indicative of this year's match.

Arnold got the 11 seed, on Keckeisen's side, has permanently ducked Carter. Gets Foca in Round 2.
Not so fast my friend. He faces the Carter slayer in round 1. Donnell Washington is Gabe’s proxy for CS. Looking forward to his twitter prediction of taking Washington’s head . . . then losing yet again. 🤣

Was this already said?

Seed points look to be:
PSU 157
IOWA 70
OKST 68
If Penn State wrestles to seed and matches their 34 bonus points from last year (with Carter wrestling on one leg) they would be looking at 191 points. Just let that sink in for a moment! Edit: two sources mentioned 34 points and one mentioned 35, so I modified my numbers accordingly.

@wrestleknownothing I brought your post over here from the Intermat forum because the data you posted is fascinating. I can't believe Penn State has an average seed of 2.6. That is crazy.

Penn State's Average Seed = 2.6. Who has the second, third and fourth best average seeding? I'm also curious if anyone has posted the number of wrestlers each of the top teams has qualified.
      Seed / # of wrestlers
      #1 4
      #2 2
      #3 2
      #4 1
      #8 1
      Expand
Only four teams got the full slate in

Teams that qualified all 10 of their wrestlers are Penn State, Northern Iowa, Ohio State, and Cornell.
Obviously good to qualify 10 wrestlers, but qualifying 10 studs is better:

Seed points:
Penn State 157
Cornell 47
Northern Iowa 46
Tom Ryan’s Express 36.5

I'm going with Oklahoma State for 2nd, and maybe by a big margin. They shit the bed at B12, which hurt their seeds. I'm going to say the majority of them outwrestle their seeds and move up the leader board.

Taylor has got to be preaching the same thing that Cael does. "We're not here to win B12. Put that behind you. Keep faith in your training. The Dance is what's important."
