NCAA's brackets, seeds and other discussions

He mostly talked about how Mitchell talks the whole time you're wrestling him and it aggravates everyone, including when Askren is wrestling him. He also says it's nothing malicious, just annoying.
I’m sure Mitchell is the most annoying person to wrestle in wrestling history. The cocky side to side moves, the talking, etc. Love it all.

I agree that 200 isn’t likely and almost sounds preposterous but if you look at @js8793 predictions they all seem feasible and he has PSU at 186 points with Barr not placing. If Barr is healthy and finishes top 4 200 is within reach. Absolutely wild
I even had Starocci losing too. The only guy I think I predicted to place way over seed is Davis.

On the Penn State coaches show today Cael said this about Barr.
"He's ready to go and will be scrapping on the mat next Thursday. We're happy for him. "

Sounds somewhat promising, but who knows how effective he will be.
That's just Cael speak. I am optimistic about Barr but not because of that.

You misheard Cael so I FIFY

I have it on good authority, that the NCAA, in its ever increasing suckitude, is not issuing coaching credentials for schools who did not get a qualifier. I get it, they aren’t going to be coaching, but throwing them a bone and letting them spectate from up close isn’t really putting anybody out.

Especially bad for any team like Mercyhurst that is not allowed to send anyone. Therefore not allowed to learn about the process and environment of the D1 tourney. Real disservice to those athletes when finally allowed to compete at nationals.

That's of course not the only thing those coaches will do. They'll also have some interaction with the wrestlers and other coaches, albeit limited. I'd understand NCAA preventing interaction with wrestlers, except for the rampant non-portal poaching including alleged in the tunnel immediately after matches in past NCAAs. And while networking is not nearly as much as the coaches' association meetings, that's an opportunity afforded to coaches allowed to attend.

The only time wrestlers will meet again are in placing matches. Brackets are pretty magical that way.
This is not correct. Wrestlers in a 33 man bracket can meet on the front side AND a consy semi.

Unless I'm misinterpreting what you're trying to say and you mean after the Blood Round.

For the posters there, please send pics when you can. I would have loved to be there for the 5 days in the suite, but couldn't justify it with kid commitments (sports, theater)

Contrary to what some have said about CS's comments being "coach-speak", I disagree and would argue that it clearly indicates that JB's injury was his hamstring spasming (which can be caused by many things and triggered by stretching it in a way that sets it off) and is not a lingering injury. Keep in mind, CS didn't say he "thought" Barr would be ready to go - he said Barr "would be ready to go" Thursday. Given the phrasing used by CS, which was stated with certainty, it doesn't sound like coach-speak as there was no couching or hedging involved (i.e., something like - I think Barr will give it a go... or something similar. ).

I gotta admit, you are unusual in that you're a Hawk fan that can be a good sport, even when you're down. It amazes me that you come here to watch us in our glory. I mean, I almost think that if you were flexible enough, you'd kick yourself in the balls just to pile onto yourself even more than you already do. Lol

Especially if they get a Josh Barr citing.... let us know how he's walking.

Would be thrilled for Barr to hold seed although he’s beaten Cardenas before.

It will be an epic tournament for the Nits and Cael is getting the guys ready. He’s ready.
