100%. He doesn’t have 40 years of goodwill built like Paterno did during the dark years. He’s making big money for results.

This team lost by 40 at Northwestern two weeks ago.
The missing players hurt. Brings the score closer. But one team is clearly happier to be there than the other today. Otherwise, you believe that Maryland has caught us as a program. In which case, your next thread should be to for the coach because that’s an indictment.
I can’t really see any positives other than some individual talent.
I don’t think there are too many coaching staff’s in the country who are bad enough to get a result like this with the players available. This is really awful fundamental football. They look so bad because they are always out of position and don’t seem to know their assignments.

On defense I cannot believe how slow they are. I thought this was a team built on team speed? I don't see it. On offense Clifford's bad year continues missing open receivers.
Not sure if you're serious. But if you are, then wow! We have thousands of military personnel away from their families for months on end, and in a combat zone, yet they're able to stay focused and do their vitally important jobs. Surely the football coach getting paid muti millions of dollars and able to FaceTime with his family anytime he wants can be expected to buck up.

WRs can't get separation at all, including Dotson. Clifford is a complete head case.
Staff doesn't help. PSU clock management with 3 min remaining was horrific. Heave, heave, heave. Give the ball back to MD with time to score again. That and not kicking FG on opening possession is 10 pts. We would have a chance to regroup at 21-10. Not so much at 28-7.

They probably have a bit of a hangover from the loss last week. Let's see what they look like in the second half.
His DL isn't getting any pressure. He is playing a soft zone and they are picking it apart. Beamon is the only GD player that seems to be able to anything up the middle. Our LB's are slow to react. As bad as the offense sucks....this defense is every bit as bad. It's predictable and undiscipline.
Every year I buy my dad PSU bowl gear for Christmas. I have no clue what I’m going to get him this year now.
That isn’t the point. Sure military have it tougher. That has nothing to do with whether being separated from his family all season is impacting Franklin.
Its not the receivers. It is Clifford. His throws are weak and late. Receivers are always slowing down for the ball.
His throws are also off by a lot and thus the receivers must adjust.
What is so odd is why we are running the offense through him. He is playing terrible. So adjust and try something else.

Yeah it is the point. Then he needs to take a leave of absence. What you can't do is continue on the job and not perform.

Who F'n cares. You don't make personnel decisions at Penn State because of one recruit.
If you are a five star WR in Maryland or Jersey and you have the choice between PSU and Maryland, where do you go? That is why people who were incredulous that this might be Franklin’s most important game were so off. Not beating O$U is one thing. Losing to a team coached by the biggest negative recruiter in the country is going to murder us for years. This team and coaching staff either grows a set of balls and wins this game or the program is done for the near future. It’s that simple.
It’s one thing to play like this when your have a depleted roster and a new coach. When you have a highly paid coach in his seventh season who has had a lot of success and good recruiting classes, you just wonder how things could get turned around.
