Official PSU - Ohi State Game Thread

It was a great game, if it wasn't for special teams Penn State probably wouldn't have been in the game. Oh well. A shame the coaches got so conservative on offense

C-H-O-K-E!
This is ALL on CJF
I love Franklin but he's done this several times the last 3 years. He says "the book says" to do this in certain situations. Problem is the book doesnt see the momentum or flow of the game.

Losing Bates really hurt, but the playcalling on the last drive was awful. Attempts to gain big yards when we needed to be patient and use the clock and TO’s. Give credit to OSU D Line, which was far better than ours.

Great hanging out with you guys. Gonna go hang it up now. Cannot believe we blew this game. Cannot believe it.

Feel good that we seem to have the athletes to match up with Ohio State. But the lines are where we are still a ways off.

Coaches didn't lose the game. Players didn't execute in the 4th quarter....tough to beat a good D on the road. They took over the game after the blocked punt.

Franklin, Moorhead, and Pry should be forced to watch this 4th quarter and the Rose Bowl 4th quarter on an endless loop. They did the opposite of putting their players in a position to succeed tonight. Their balls collectively retracted, their sphincters puckered, and they gave this freaking game away.

It was a coaching disaster all over. When we had the ball up 8 inside the OSU 10, all of a sudden the coaching on both sides of the ball turtled up and cost us the game. They didn't even try for the TD to put the pressure on. Then the defense went into swiss cheese semi-prevent mode, before the offense, again, just decided to lay down and hope the swiss cheese defense would provide a miracle stop.

Playing not to lose almost always results in a loss. Everyone knows this. Why didn't both sides of the PSU coaching staff know this?

I understand that momentum had swung, and that we were losing the battle on both lines ... but you have to put up a fight. You don't just hope the other team screws up royally as your only path to victory when you're up 11 in the 4th.

100% and that's the effects of the sanctions. It will get better with time and recruiting. Our O-line is young. Hope they come out angry next week.

Oline absolutely terribble. Barely blocked anyone all day. D had a tough day, but that's a good offense.

However, this is all on Franklin and Moorhead. We had the kick return, we had the turnover, and they still screwed it up. Tried that garbage RPO over and over that had no chance. Gave up with a super conservative 4th quarter.

I hope Joe gets a head coach job next year. His offense has been figured out and he is too stubborn to change. We can't continue with this.

We can criticize the offensive line, but the play calling was simply ridiculous. Barkley and McSorley playing pattycake with each other five yards deep in the backfield while standing still, and OSU was sending the house to stop exactly that. Over and over and over again. And those three plays with first and goal? How in the hell do you run up the middle three times and play for a field goal when a TD ends it? Inexcusable.
