If we're a second half team, and even Coach jokes all the time that "we hate 1st halves," then we NEED to have the ball first in the 3rd quarter!!

Each team will have around 8 series. The team that makes the most of them will win.

Our d line will start asserting itself in the second half, just need more drives on O like that last scoring drive, wear them down.

Our DLine rotation will wear down their OL like we did against Wisky.

not sure i agree with that. we seem to be getting thru quite often but not containing darnold. we've been so close so many times. moreover, darnold has made at least 3 amazing plays to avoid a sack...and it ain't like they've been able to run on us. so "schooled" might be a stretch.

i suggest not listening to the announcers, who seems to have gone out of their way to imply that we haven't faced talent on either side of the ball like usc.. iow, the B1G kinda sux so we aren't prepared.

so far, this is the ONLY B1G who has shown the B1G belongs in the conversation.... unless you want to count NW. Wisky did not do us any favors and iowa lost whatever momentum it had between the end of the season and today and let a horrible awful Fl offense look like the greatest show on erf. i were the hawkeyes, i'd run and hide with boooooosu.. those turds made the conference look like the ivy league.

Don't know what adjustments can be made on defense. Pressure on the QB is a must, but with the weapons USC has, it is scary to bring too many and leaving people on an island unless they go straight zone blitz.

Beat your man. Tackle the ball carrier. Make the play...... PSU has been inches away all game. It will happen.

Was Franklin animated over the need to have the catch reviewed... or that the USC kicker went and fired one up for a FG practice kick after the TO was called? Wasn't like it was called at the last second.. it was called.. timeout was noted... he went and kicked a practice shot (not that it helpd).

I agree, just mute the TV lol... The announcers are idiots and many people listen to them like they are speaking facts and not opinions. THEY GET PAID TO SPEAK OPINIONS!

I'm confused. Why was the penalty reviewed and reversed? Jack Ham and Steve Jones said that a penalty is NOT reviewable.

They are wrong if they said that. Certain aspects of a penalty are certainly reviewable (such as what happened here).

Not really. PSU's D-Line Rotation has wore teams down in the 2nd Half. PSU's D has thrown "numbers" at teams along the DL all year and it has paid huge dividends in the 2nd Half, especially the 4th Qtr - PSU leads all FBS Teams in scoring differential for both the 4th Quarter and 2nd Half overall....Wisconsin a good example - PSU only gave up 6 points in the 2nd Half!

Trouble with contain on passing downs, slide both 90 and 94 another step to the outside of those behemoth tackles. Send somebody every play now. Sell out. Covering with 7 or 8 is a waste of time, HAVE TO GET HIM OFF HIS SPOT, THEN HIT HIM.

it is interesting to note that as good as darnold has apparently been, he is 18-30. Trace started 0-5 (or was it 0-4?) and has gone 12-15 (or 12-16) since. Frankly, darnold has hurt us more with his feet (making yards or getting away from pressure to make plays). We fix that, we should win.
