Ohio State vs Texas game thread

For all the Franklin haters out there… that was some awful play call on 2nd down by the Texas braintrust….. hard to believe how much money some of these people get paid.
Ohio State is an elite defense against the run--see our loss to them
He didn't think he could run up the middle so he made gutsy play--I don't like it (WR motion, shovel/handoff would be my call) but I get why he did it--desparation

As much as it pains me to say it, I am rooting for Ohio State next week. Watching ND celebrating like they won the God damn super bowl in a game in which they didn't deserve to win was sickening and it's going to bring me pure joy to watch them crying like babies and suffer the ultimate heart break of losing the ACTUAL BIGGEST GAME OF ALL, THE FINAL.

Actually I hope it's close and they lose late in the fourth quarter. That's even better.

Why didn’t ND deserve to win?

The CFP has been exposed as a sham this year - the last 10 years of the 4-team playoff have been excluding the best teams. If we believed the CFP, Oregon, Georgia were the two best teams and clearly that wasn’t the case.

Really? I don’t think so.

Everyone is writing off ND...their defense will cause the OSU OL issues...and that secondary and D is legit...leads the nation in turnovers I believe....all the pressure is on OSU

Texas also beat clemson and arizona state to get to this point...two teams that are better than smu and boise state.
Not according to any of the ranking systems that are generally accepted as a standard. Plus, they got this round’s game in their home state.

Against tOSU, PSU started out with a first and goal from the 3 and lost by 7. Texas started out with first and goal from the 1 and lost by 14.

Texas also beat fewer ranked “nobodies” than PSU this season.

When will Texas receive a portion of the negative coverage PSU has received during this tournament?

I don't understand why people struggle with this
A screen pass is by design--under no circumstance in last night's game at the end do we want a check down--it's better than a pick but Allar isn't supposed to check down there. Blame him for not dirting it like he wanted but he's not going to check down to the flat there. If he is--just take a knee
Check downs are very common in a 2 minute offense holy shit you are clueless...

Lol it wasn't a 2 minute drill there were 30 second with 1 timeout. You can't check down there. The correct, valid complaint is it should have been throw away OOB earlier. Can't check down and waste the last time out. Can't.

You only do that when you have a quarterback you can't trust. Turns out he shouldn't have trusted him.
And you can't trust any QB with that play calling and WRs that can't create separation. Drew's rarely been picked but he had an off night and Franklin foolish but him in a position to fail. Fact

Clemson hasn’t been good for years and got lucky to beat SMU. ASU has had one decent year in the last ten.
SMU was a slightly better than average team, but beat no one of any significance. I will give them credit for winning all of the games they were supposed to.

Boise might have been worse than SMU. Other than their RB, they don't have any elite players. I know Boise played Oregon tough, but so did FCS Idaho. Granted, Idaho was a tough team as demonstrated by their 3TD win over Lehigh.

I thought PSU handled SMU as expected. I became concerned when they didn't roll Boise. I like the fact that the Boise States of the world are involved in the playoff, but I didn't really think they were one of the top 12 teams in the country.
