Football Penn State survives Bowling Green upset bid 34-27

Good news is our team won. And there’s plenty of time to get things right before they play a great team.

Looking around the country, it looks like a lot of top teams struggled to separate and win today. I’ve got #5 ND on the TV now only up 1 on Northern Illinois heading into the fourth quarter.

You have 12 games in 365 days. There is zero excuse for not being ready to play today. This is not a playoff team right now. They have
10 games left to do something about that.

Hangover from being "special" last week. Credit to Bowling Green as well. I honestly thought they would hang around even longer.

Lol yes obviously....but that JF mentality is such passive garbage. It glorifies how we came down to the wire vs a MAC team we were heavily favored. 2-0 is 2-0, but JF will use anything to soften the blow how unprepared we are....especially for noon games.

We may drop. We may not. It also doesn't matter 2 games into the season, and with a ton of meaningful games (throughout the FBS) and plenty of upsets yet to come.

In the past two regular seasons and this year in games not involving OSU and Michigan, we’re 9-0 with 6 blowouts in noon games…so unprepared for noon games.

#4 Alabama sucks - they're only up by a point midway through 3Q as 31 point favorites. They've only been able to score 14 points.... they're awful.... blabity, blab, blab, blab

We literally just killed WVU
I honestly think they weren't up for it after the hype last week and a bye next week

Thompson average 44 yds which isn't bad. Maybe he's talking about punt returns. Saunders fair caught everything. I thought that might be because he was banged up.
Saunders limping…Other PRs must be a disaster if he is playing.

We are back at square 1. Based on 3 weeks of football, only a handful of teams look complete. A lot of the questions and concerns we had preseason still exist. That's okay. We have time to fix it. Nobody will believe we are good until we beat USC or OSU. Winning 55-10 today wouldn't have changed that.
The offense is significantly better IMO. AK took what was available. If you take away the interception, numerous penalties, and a wide open dropped pass, we score at least two more TDs. The OLine is opening holes. The Defense played a lot more sound fundamentally in the second half. Good game for the coaches to analyze, figure out the best personnel and correct mistakes.

I mean sure...take away all of that. But, beyond the stupid penalties, also the bonehead mistakes like another kick out of bounds. The Oline is opening running lanes, but pass protection from the tackles, especially Shelton, doesn't just get rectified unless JF makes a personnel change for Rucci. Knowing his track record, I don't think he makes that permanent change.

Evans dropped a pass and committed another OPI (got away with one vs WV). It's hard to say just take these things away, and we win big. Many of these issues are annual, including being totally lackluster and unprepared for noon games.

Yeah, the Officials wiped out two promising PSU drives with ticky-tack calls (especially considering that they called BGSU for 3 penalties for 18 yards) - the calls wiped out huge gains and converted them into 2nd/3rd-and-20 type situation.

We will find out in three weeks vs Illinois IMO. Not that they are a great team, but they will be well coached and will have a solid game plan for us.

And they are physical up front...a staple of Bielema's teams. Our smallish DL will get pummeled unless our pass rushers can force TFLs and get sacks.

Losers whine about officiating. Irredeemable pathological sad sacks whine about officiating incessantly, to the point where they have to make up stuff to be faux-outraged about.
