And the Penn State beat writers still probably picked Ohio State as national champions. We're not claiming national championships from more than 100 years ago when 50 different regional magazines claimed 50 different national championships. And none of the writers ever saw any team play but the ones they covered. And half of those were given to whichever team paid them the most for favorable coverage.
They’re trying to generate interest via outrage. Just ignore them.Listened to 93.7 driving back from Washington pa today and I don't know who said it but right before a break one of those morons said "trevor Lawrence leads pre season ap all American teams as Penn state and west Virginia get shut out"
Lol at how they chose to lead the listeners...
OMG...I totally agree with a Pitt fan!! (Wash my mouth out with soap) The hot women threads HAVE been missing lately!!I’m a Pitt fan who likes to visit this board (I like the history threads and the hot women threads, which have been missing of late). For Pitt no matter if it’s 1976 or 2019 can count on roughly 40-48k per game when they’re good. It makes good economic sense for Pitt to schedule PSU, WVU, Notre Dame; guaranteed 70k in the seats. That’s the main reason the administration wants to keep the games with PSU.
Rutgersal has toned it down a lot.He seems to realize the inevitable will occur and another losing season is on the way.A lot of the posters over there are on a level with Pitt. Both teams hate the fact that PSU has been able to right the ship and their expected rise to beasts of the east went poof.Rutgers AL?

It got late early for that guy.I think Yogi Berra is posting over there now. If this isn't one of the darndest things, I don't know what is. RE: Pitt's # 33 ranking in the all time best programs list...
"Pitt should easily be ranked higher. The decades of low winning percentage hurts for this ranking."

If they weren’t so rank, they’d be ranked higher!
From the article that I read.....Nardouche refused to answer the question if he was on scholarship. The thread on Petrishen is too much
I know what your point is .... BUT why are you upset and assuming he will earn playing time at Pitt ???? ...... and IF he does, at some point, earn playing time at Pitt, it may not be because our players suck but may mean that Petrishen would have been higher on the PSU depth chart without injuries ...... my guess is that Petrishen was brought in to help with special teams and add depth to the secondary ..... if he can do this as a non-scholarship player, it is a win for Pitt and if he contributes above this, it is a bigger win ..... if he never plays a down as a non-scholarship player, we have lost nothing ..... IMO, this move reflects very little on what the staff feels about our current safeties.
Petrishen was healthy enough to play special teams all of 2018, but from we know coming out of Spring practice could not crack the 2-deep at Safety for PSU, and with Brisker arriving in the Summer chose to look for a team where he had a better chance to play Safety during his last 2 years of eligibility. Pretty simple to understand.
Sorry pitt fans, yes it does say that Duzzy is trying to bring in talent to play Safety at pitt. Do they really believe Petrishen will stay the next 2 years without getting on scholarship? That he would leave PSU without a clear path to a scholarship on another team?
Petrishen is a Pittsburgh boy and I was rooting for him. But the fact is that he could not beat out Taylor, Wade, Sutherland, and now during the Summer, Brisker. And then chose to transfer for a chance to play. And yes, that is a reflection on the talent on the pitt roster. Sorry pitt boys...

Nobody is really stating it this way, but why would he leave a PSU Scholarship on the table to walk on at Pitt? Not saying he didn't, but why would he? It appears he left in good standing, right? It's a logical question for pitt reporters and fans.
But it's hard to believe that if Petrishen is healthy enough to play in 2019 that he would not be on scholarship.
Good luck to him. As he said on leaving, he has his PSU degree as well as the friendships he made at PSU, and will be a PSU letterman for life as well....

Have you seen your board? If Peak had an ounce of class he would clean it up. Your board hates PSU and most there don't want to play us.

He doesn't get a scholarship until he hands over Pry's playbook
Yep, I believe he must really have a scholarship at pitt once he fully recovers and passes a physical. Probably why Duzzy would not answer the question yesterday about Petrishen being on scholarship. Duzzy also probably didn't want to upset all the "fans" in the Lair that don't want to offer scholarships to players that can't get PT at PSU, which would kill their fairy tale that the pitt roster is better than it is...
I’m really gearing up for the season. If anyone’s interested, 1:38:40 of this podcast is a good analysis of our week 3 opponent.
Given the carriage agreements, or lack thereof, it's hardly as successful as people had hoped. It's doing better than PAC-12 nets due to signing with Directv, but most cable companies, and Dish, are pretty much unenthused. I live in Atlanta and Uverse has not picked it up and neither has the local cable providers. Streaming services seem to be on board though. There are so many threads on the Lair right now about the new ACC tv channel that if you didn’t know better one would think that they just discovered fire.
I live in Allegheny County and can't find it on Comcast. So far, Pitt's home opener with VA is not on a TV schedule that I can find. Broadcasters must know they can't compete with the Refucilo winery, Cadillac Jazz and Southside BBQ, not to mention Distillery Days.Given the carriage agreements, or lack thereof, it's hardly as successful as people had hoped. Not to take away from how inferior a product the ACCN is to the BTN and SECN, when the SECN was introduced the carriage agreements for ESPN was up at the same time so ABC could strongarm carriers into taking SECN. They're selling ACCN standalone to most providers. That's not helping. Uverse carries the Longhorn Network but says no to ACCN. Uverse also dumped the PAC-12 nets, at least nationally. I'm not holding out much hope of seeing Pitt lose to Ohio, or at least the first hour of the game. At noon the real games will start and I'll be rooting for the Black Knights.I live in Allegheny County and can't find it on Comcast. Things are sizzling at Pitt....they are thrilled that recruiting is soaring.....they are ranked 37. Pitt claims national championships and Rome once ruled the world. LOL
Fred Flintstone won 11 consecutive Indy 500s.........

True, but at least it will be fun to check the score and see that they lost to Ohio!!!!
UVA is their first game, so Nardouchey wont have the luxury of playing a vanilla offensive game plan this year. They’ll only be about a 7-point home favorite with a look ahead to PSU. Should be a good game
