Probably a stupid question but has the PJW always allowed the possibility of two wrestlers from same school to qualify? I see Chesnut Ridge has two kids in the bracket. Been decades since I wrestled in it but I seem to recall having to wrestle off to be the representative for my school

PJW has nothing to do with schools. Most teams are club teams with a school affiliation at best. At PJW everyone competes by themselves, so a team could enter as many as they want. They need to place at a qualifying tournament, then place at their area tournament to go to the final PJW tournament. At least that is how it worked when my kids wrestled ten or so years ago. Back then We went to Shamokin to qualify for area ten, along with other possibilities, then Area ten tournament was in Williamsport area, then out to Johnstown for PJW, my son was area ten champ once. Johnstown was an experience.... as area champ they got to wear a special singlet to PJW’s.

Let me know if I don't have this correct, but I believe Hayden only started wrestling competitively in the last couple years and he's already jumped multiple levels in that short time. Interesting to see how good he gets by HS.

I think he’s been competing for a few years, but steering clear of the limelight. Both boys absolutely jumped levels this year though.

Gotta be tough for Casey to be working today, unless he isn’t. He always sits way in the back of the bleachers when his boys compete.

Do Caels boys wrestle? I am pretty sure Cody’s boy did not and he is probably high school age now?

Cody has a son who is on the youth team, goes to M2. I don’t think he has an older sibling, but I don’t know for sure. I think maybe that Cael’s haven’t taken to the sport (yet)..

Strong PSU connection with his soon to be HS head coach.

(Junior High big board -- really? Wouldn't Colin Cronin be ahead of Spencer Lee there?)

Jefe do you know if the boy young Cunningham beat in the rnd of 16 today is a son of the Nasdeo that wrestled for Wpt back in early 90s?

I watched Crawfords kid at a few youth tournaments. Hes f*n to watch.

Southern has a nice contingent at PJW JH states. That pipeline is well stocked for years to come.

No idea but how many Nasdeos can there be? Gotta be related, nephew if not son, right?

Hayden loses a tough one...2-1. He pinned every guy he faced except the quarter final match which he won 6-2. Good tourney.

PS Landon Bainey lost 7-0 in finals...

And Mackay sticks Sonny Sasso in the first. Let’s hope Abe points him in the right direction. Not going full court press yet. But he has some skills and a slight mean streak.
Never too early for the full court press.

Spyker is putting one on DT and Kendra now, so they'll have a kid to put one on later.

You mean instead of AA & AAA??

If so, couldnt disagree more, hell, I wish they would ADD another class. PA is the HS Mecca, why would anyone want to limit guys from the postseason?

1 tournament, 1 champion per weight. I get the accomplishment of making it to states under the current format and this format won’t change. Would be just cool to see who the real king of the mountain is at each weight like the PJW tournaments.

Agreed, ALWAYS wondered who would win between AA and AAA champs
