Tonight, Flo covered a PROWL (Professional Wrestling League or something) dual between Finger Lakes WC and Titan Mercury WC. Figured I'd ask a couple questions and share thoughts.
I love this concept. I wish this concept would catch on and go huge. Imagine NLWC against different clubs. You can match up guys based on weight/availability. Now, put a couple matches in the halftime of a dual. You expose the fans to more Freestyle/Greco that maybe wouldn't watch it if they were only folkstyle fans. I'm from Minnesota... A Storm vs. HWC dual would sell, I think.
Anyways, some of it was a little extra. I didn't love the altered rules, but it was manageable. Production was pretty good. If everyone knew what the rules were going in, I think it would've been pretty great.
Anyone catch this dual? Thoughts on NLWC match-ups or possibilities? I coach the Olympic Styles and hate to see the numbers so down, not only in my area, but across the nation. They almost cut us from the Olympic program. Stuff like this helps our sport grow, from the bottom, up. We need to create fans and athletes at a young age so they grow up enjoying it and bring it with them past HS graduation.
