PSU - Lehigh Match Thread

197: Cassar vs. Jacobsen

Per 1
Cassar with a spin around off a counter for an early TD, 2-0. Jacobsen out after a bit, 2-1. Blood time for Jacobsen, or something that got resolved quickly. Too much tie-ups and wrist fighting for my preference. 40 sec left. Cassar in on a double, and gets behind for a TD, 4-1. He's good on his feet -- I wish he would shoot more frequently. End

Per 2
Cassar takes bottom. He's up to his feet, but back down. Then back up again, Jakobsen stays in and keeps RT. OOB at 1:17. Caution on ??. Jakobsen gets high and Cassar tries to work under, but Jackobsen stays in control. 40 sec left. Cassar working up slowly, but flattened out. End

Per 3
Jakobsen takes bottom. He gets cut after 2 sec, 4-2. Stoppage. 1:38 left. Cassar with a half-hearted shot, nothing. 1 min left. Cassar on a single on a re-shot, 6-2. May have been only the 2nd shot Jakobsen took, and he's gotten TD on re-shots of each. Stall call on Cassar for hanging onto the leg with 24 sec. Jakobsen out and gets the esc, 6-3, with 15 sec. Cassar with a snap-down for the TD, 8-3. End

8-3

Give Cassar 2-3 months to work on his bottom game...if he improves he can be a real threat for the podium come March

Cassar making that blast double his signature move, uses it on a reshot to separate in the third

PSU up 20-19 and it all comes down to heavyweight

Haught is pretty good I think. The problem is if you get someone who knows not to take dumb shots against Cassar. Cassar mostly scores on reshots.

Cassar sucks on top and bottom
Jakobsen is an absolute hammer on top. Not surprised by the RO.

As far as sucking on top - not sure where that is coming from. Almost every time he needs a RO at the end of the period he gets it. He's not turning anyone, but who at 97 turns anybody?

If we pull this out after trailing through 8 matches....not only will cael or anyone on staff not jump the scorers table, I doubt they show much emotion

Similar to the Nevills Hall match, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nick look for the riding time point.

so it comes down to the heavyweight match

285: Nevills vs. Wood

Per 1
Nothing thru 1. Nevills reaches for a knee, nothing. Then for an ankle, nothing. Nevills nearly has a single, but Wood gets his leg free. 45 sec left. Ends scoreless

Per 2
Nevills takes bottom. Nick works up, and he's out in 10 sec, 1-0. Wood in on a single, has nick bouncing, and OOB at 1:13. Nice shot by Woods, and great recovery by Nevills. Nevills reaches, nothing. End

Per 3
Wood takes bottom. He sits out, gets up, is taken back down, comes up again, and tripped back down. OOB at 1:27. 22 sec of RT for Nevills. Wood tries another sit out, stuffed. Nevills has him flat. RT now over 1 min for Nevills. 30 sec left. Wood up, taken back down. He's up again, and they are OOB at 9 sec. Refs are talking about a possible locked hands. Now they are reviewing the video, so Lehigh doesn't have to throw the brick. Call is confirmed -- no locked hands. 9 sec left. Woods up, tries a roll, is stuffed, and that's it.

2-0, Nevills.

23-19, PSU!!!

Somebody in the stands start a fight. Damn, I wish I was there to piss off some Lehigh fans after they thought Hell was freezing over in the first 3 weights.
