PSU - Lehigh Match Thread

Back to 141 for a monent: I thought top had to mat return with legs in or get dinged for stalling.

Twice Cortez stood and I counted past 5 before any attempted return.

Am I missing sonething?
saw that as well. No excuse for losing but that could have been huge. Stalling - can't stand the inconsistencies throughout the 7 minutes

Lol at the people that are upset about the match performance when our 125 is a back-up on most D1 line-ups that wrestled the returning national champ, our 133 was a back-up that got pinned by a returning AA that is proving to be even better than last year, we had a 149 wrestle 165 but yet he looked "tired/apathetic", Hall and Nickal wrestled guys that are very solid and they wrestled to not give up bonus but should have found a way to get bonus anyway

Absolute garbage. Hall took all the shots the whole match. Kutler took 2 shots the whole match and they hit Hall for stalling. Its actually disgusting.

Hall was clearly stalling at the end of that match; I had no issue with the call.

Nice match. Excellent job by PSU's wrestlers to get the win, with 2 starters being out of the lineup.

Lehigh is a very strong team.

I haven't a clue where PSU football is playing in a bowl -- to focused on this match. ;)
Playing Washington in the Fiesta on Dec. 30 at 2 pm MST = 4 PM Eastern Time.

Penn State looking pretty challenged without CJ or a hammer in the first three weights. This could be a stressful dual meet season.
The high note was the Raptor!

I respectfully disagree. Almost same thing with Nickal-Preisch match. Bo did everything the whole match and took all the shots. Bo retreated at the end and they did not hit him with stalling.

I honestly do not think Kutler took a single shot til the end, and he never got dinged for stalling the entire match. I think its garbage if a guy is being smart the last 20 plus seconds gets hit when he was the aggressor the whole match and his opponent waits til the very end to try and score.

Listen to it good meet Leigh is tough can now see why they did what they did to Michigan.
Seriously do u not have a back up at 165 with out using a 149 lber
to fill in..Hope all injuries not that serious. March is long ways away. Was also surprised about the Hall match..All said and done a w is a w..

Nonsense, Cassar mostly scores on his own shots. Do you really think a blast double is a reshot?

Just my take from watching him this year. I notice Cassar is awesome at scoring from re-shots. Even today I was think man he is deadly with it. But he also scores his takedowns from his own set ups too.

Nevills has zero takedowns against Hall, Kasper, and Wood. I know he's slow-twitch (like his brothers), so every pound lost will help him.

Yeah, Kutler probably could have been dinged for stalling earlier, but I'm talking about the end of the 174 lb bout - Hall was retreating and deserved a stall warning, regardless of what happened previously. Nickal easily could have been hit for stalling at the end of his match as well.

Didn't realize Pipher was giving at least 10 lbs, and maybe that doesn't even matter because it was his first match as a starter in a big, hostile venue. He was outgunned but stayed within himself. Getting pinned ultimately wouldn't have mattered but he couldn't count on anything at that point. So good job by him.

And Kutler stalled for the first 6:30 seconds with no call

This ref was brutal. From 174 thru 285 Lehigh had all of 2 offensive attempts in 28 minutes of wrestling that generated 1 stall call

Also this ref had no idea how to enforce stallin from they top nor holding the ankle from top

Preisch did nothing the entire bout except for 2 half fake shots with 15 seconds left

Great job by the young man. The 6 pounds he was up from 149 weren’t good pounds, so imo Bo really was taking on a guy up 2 classes.
