When he snapped him down he was in a great spot to spin around, no reason to go with the high-risk roll.
I really believe that Verk is the better wrestler but Gardner does not lose that match. Just my opinion.
Verk needs to show some urgency in the first two periods he always seems content to "manage" a tight match and gamble's on what plays out in the 3rd.

It was very, very clear he wasn’t going to convert from that position and he should’ve bailed.
