125: Brandon Meredith vs #11 Brandon Paetzell

BP gets behind, Meredith grabs an ankle as they roll through, but BP is able to get the TD, 0-2. OOB with 1:50 left. Neutral start, so it's 1-2. BP in on a single, Meredith with a whizzer, but BP gets the TD, 1-4. Meredith quickly up, 2-4, and BP with a fireman's carry that ends in a tD, 2-6. OOB with 29 sec. End with a rideout. BP with 1:28 in RT

BP defers, and Meredith takes bottom. BP indicates neutral, makes it 3-6. Stall warning on Meredith. BP for a single to a TD, 3-8. Meredith up, 4-8. A bit of a flurry that ends with a BP TD, 4-10. BP has the left arm controlled with a bar, but it's stopped for PD with 25 sec left. Not much on the restart. Another stall warning on Meredity, makes it 4-11. 2:40+ in RT for BP

BP is on bottom. He's up quickly, 4-12. BP shoots, blocked. Meredith shoots, BP counters and spins behind, 4-14. He cuts him, 5-15. Meredith tries a shot, a BP counter, and eventually a PD stoppage. 50 sec left. Meredith in on a single, BP with a whizzer, a long scramble but nothing. With 2:40 in RT, it's a 15-5 major (somewhere I messed up the scoring)

Not much thru 30 sec. Lane reaches, then RBY with a half shot, then a scramble, nothing. 2 min left. RBY with an ankle pick to a double, then scramble, RBY is totally behind him by Lane has RBY's ankle, and eventually a stalemate with 55 sec left. RBYin on a single, Lane with a great whizzer, and a PD stoppage with 8 sec. Nothing more

Per 2
Lane takes bottom. Lane works up, back down, back up, back down, briefly flattened. Lane to his feet again, and back to the mat. Lane to his feet again, and brought back down. Interesting, in that RBY doesn't seem to be doing much to turn him, and Lane isn't doing a lot to get free. Lane stands again, and brought back down to the mat. Rideout. RT @ 2 min for RBY

Per 3
RBY takes neutral. RBY shoots, nothing. RBY shoots again, drives in to a double, and trips him down for the TD, 2-0. Right near the edge. OOB with 1:06. Neutral restart, so it's 2-1. RT is locked. RBY in on a single, nearly locks a cradle, but only gets the TD as Lane got his head free, 4-1. Lane to his feet and brought back down hard. OOB with 30 sec. Neutral start, 4-2. RBY in on a leg, tries to lock a cradle, they roll thru so it's only a TD, 6-2. With RT, it's a 7-2 decision

i like the NLee that works TDs to turns then releases better than the Lee that just works for what seems endless RT and doesnt get the pin

a Lehigh dance team performed before this match. Not quite a Hula Hoop Girl, but it might have gotten Crop's attention. ;)

141: #3 Nick Lee vs. Joe Lobeck

Per 1
Lee quite active, but no shots thru 30 sec. Lee snaps down on the head, spins behind, and gets the TD, 2-0. Lee cuts him, 2-1. Lee in on a single, gets behind and gets the TD, 4-1. Lee putting more effort into a tilt, and had him tilted very briefly, but no swipes. Lee working the arm bar/wrist combo, and a PD stoppage with 21 sec left. End. RT @ 1:41 for Lee

Lee chooses bottom. Caution on Lee. Lee tries to hit a switch, Roebuck holds a thigh for a bit, but Lee gets the reversal, 6-1. Again, he's working on a tilt, but Lobeck rolls thru, 6-2. Lee with a double leg for a TD, 8-2. Lee cuts him, 8-3. Stall warning on Lobeck. Lee spins behind for another TD, 10-3. PD with 3 sec left. Looks as though there was a 2nd stall, so it's 11-3. End

Per 3
Lobeck takes neutral. Lee in on a single to a double for the D, 13-3. Roebuck doing nothing, but Lee cuts him, 13-4. Then Lobeck with a semi shot, but Lee counters for the TD, 15-4. He cuts him, 15-5, and gets a quick TD, 17-5. Missed about 15 sec, and it's 19-7. Lee with a TD off a restart, makes it 21-7. End. With RT, it's a 22-7 TF

Verk gets the start over Gardiner. JB said they made Lehigh send out before they decided. Scoreless first then Berk gets an immediate escape to start second instead of trying for a reversal for a whole period.

Hoffman defers, and Verk takes bottom. Verk quickly to his feet, and he's out, 1-0, in about 4 sec. Verk sort of reaches, nothing. 1 min left. Verk shoots from left field, nothing. Verk shoots, nothing. Hoffman in on a single, Verk whizzer, and the period ends

Hoffman takes bottom. Nearly gets a reverse on a switch, but Verk kicks free and gives up just the esc, 1-1. Very little offense from either of them, especially from tie-ups. 30 sec left. Verk tried a duck, nothing. End

Nothing early on. Verk circled and shot a single, nothing. Hoffman shoots from way out, nothing. Verk with double overlooks and looking for a throw. Hoffman drops down and gets a TD with 2 sec left, 3-1

Verk needs offense. smh

Not that I'm defending Verkleeren's performance, but it looked like he was trying a throw and he slipped, it wasn't Hoffman's offense. Nonetheless, a loss is a loss and it probably shouldn't have happened.
 
I really believe that Verk is the better wrestler but Gardner does not lose that match. Just my opinion.

Verk needs to show some urgency in the first two periods he always seems content to "manage" a tight match and gamble's on what plays out in the 3rd.

It was very, very clear he wasn’t going to convert from that position and he should’ve bailed.
