Just curious if anyone has heard Brooks' name in connection with recruiting. Kid is a rising junior from Hagerstown, MD - central MD, right on the PA line. He's a recent double champ at Fargo @ 160 and a 2-time MD state champ.
Not sure Aaron Brooks can handle a full court press...Tell Spyker to Start up the campaign for Brooks Bros....

Sure he can. Dude had a serious handle at Oregon.
But, the wrestling Aaron Brooks is still something of an unknown. It's hard to gauge a lot of MD kids because of the level of competition throughout the state. Now, having won Fargo, Brooks is on the scene. Same class and similar weight to Carr and Wittlake. I'm just curious to know whether anyone here has heard about him being anyone's recruiting radar.
Because Snyder was on everyone's radar real early. Walsh Ironman champ 2x, Beast of East champ 3x, plus Powerade once, then there was that Junior World Championship thing in 2013...not to mention undefeated in High School only giving up 1 takedown, going 179-0...and I probably missed a couple accolades. When you have results like that, doesn't matter the state you're from.I'm sure Dice, Dunk or Ames might know ,but Snyder transitioned ok out of Maryland.

Matt Miller and Patrick Downey in 2016, in addition to Snyder.Offhand, the only recent Maryland HS wrestlers to place at NCAAs are Snyder and Lewnes... both of whom attended prep schools.
(Not counting Myles Martin, MD prep school but NJ resident.)
I'm probably missing someone, but the point is that Maryland public schools have not exactly been wrestling factories. In fact, it's not unheard of for a good Maryland wrestler to transfer to a PA school for better competition and visibility.
Actually, I don't know...just read that on his Wiki page, and quoted it here.Roar, just curious if you know who Snyder gave up the only takedown to?
Good catch.Matt Miller and Patrick Downey in 2016, in addition to Snyder.
Good catch.
BTW, the trivia answer is: Alex Campbell, Canon McMillan, in the Dec 2012 Walsh Ironman finals. (And, yes, it took some digging.)
"Kyle Snyder (Good Counsel, Md.) cut through his four matches like a knife through butter. This included a 26-11 technical fall in the finals over Alex Campbell (Canon-McMillan, Pa.) at the 4:54 mark. He had five first-period takedowns, five second-period takedowns and a near fall, and one third-period takedown to the solo takedown from Campbell in the third period."
