157 - #3 Tyler Kasak VS #31 Conner Harer

Period 1:
It's Tyler Time! Kasak comes forward off the whistle & has Harer on the edge. He tries to push him out, then they're back to center. Kasak with some throw by attempts, but can't find a finish, yet. Kasak works a 2 on 1, drags Harer to the mat, then gets behind him for the TD, 3-0. Tyler just bullied Harer to the mat, like pinning a calf to the ground. Kasak is smothering Harer from the top & has him bellied out. Harer is not doing much from bottom & Kasak goes over 1-min riding time. Kasak gets Harer bellied out again. Harer is completely out of bounds, but Kasak is keeping the tip of his foot in & rolling up the riding time. Time expires. 3-0 Kasak, +1:42 RT

Period 2:
Kasak takes neutral. Circling & tying up to start the 2nd. Kasak pushes forward. He snaps down, but can't come behind for the TD. Back to tying up. Kasak is pushing forward & takes Harer out of bounds, restart. Tying up & pushing. Kasak drags & tries to go behind, but Harer blocks him off. More tying up & pushing as the period ends. 3-0 Kasak, +1:42 RT

Period 3:
Harer takes down. Kasak breaks Harer down & is looking for a turn, but Harer fights back to his belly. Kasak with lots of pressure on top & the ref calls PD, restart. Harer got a stall warning there too. Kasak has riding time secured now. Kasak is riding heavy & Harer can't do much, 1-min left. Stall warning on Kasak, restart. Harer is still down & that's probably where he's staying. Harer gets to his feet, but then Kasak breaks him back down to his base. Kasak rides out the period & adds a RT point for the 4-0 win. Harer wrestled a solid match.

Man, Luke really struggles to get to legs, huh? I know that’s par for the course with many of the 125 pounders- everyone is super quick and really good defensively- but I just didn’t see that coming with Luke.
Luke wrestles from neutral with movement, slickness, quickness and skill. Right now he seems a little stuck wrestling the 125 pounders with some serious strength. As he matures his strength development will allow his movement, slickness, quickness and skill to overwhelm his top tier opponents.
For immediate consideration I would imagine the obvious will be used as a teaching moment. Attack rate has to be more urgent to neutralize the stronger athlete being a retreating wall.
 
Competitive first half. Looks like a cool place to wrestle! Gotta appreciate these big crowds not every team gets to go in front of them.
 
165 - #1 Mitchell Mesenbrink VS #26 Anthony White

Period 1:
Mitchell is out bouncing around & ready to roll! Mesenbrink quickly gets to a leg & finish the TD, 3-0. That took about 12-sec. Mesenbrink has White bellied out on the edge now. Mesenbrink gives the bow & arrow a try, but they go out of bounds. Mesenbrink needs to work on that move a little more. Mesenbrink concedes the TD, 3-1. Neutral start. PD for something, restart. Mesenbrink gets to the leg & gets another TD, 6-1. Mesenbrink has White bellied out again & goes over 90-sec of riding time. Mesenbrink looks for a cross-wrist tilt, but White rolls through. Mesenbrink has White bellied out again & goes over 2-min riding time. Stall warning on White. Mesenbrink almost gets swipes & 3 NF, I think, 10-1. Mesenbrink rides out the period. 10-1 Mesenbrink, +2:29 RT

Period 2:
Mesenbrink takes down. The ref is talking to White about something. Mesenbrink gets to his feet & does some goofy bronco kick or cartwheel for the escape, 10-1. White drops in on a leg. Mesenbrink counters, they're working & Mesenbrink gets the TD, 13-1. Mesenbrink with a hard ride & has White bellied out on the edge again. Mesenbrink goes over 3-min of riding time & rides out the period. 13-1 Mesenbrink, +3:18

Period 3:
Neutral start. Mesenbrink drops in on a leg. White wraps around the chest. Mesenbrink keeps working & finishes off the TD, 16-2. Mesenbrink cuts White, 16-2. Mesenbrink shoots, but no luck. Mesenbrink shoots again & gets a leg. They're scrambling & are head to feet. White has both of Mesenbrink's ankles. Stalemate, restart, 42-sec left. Mesenbrink shoots, gets an outside single & covers the other leg for the TD & 19-3 TECH.

174 - #2 Levi Haines VS #22 Jackson Turley

Period 1:
Tying up off the whistle. Levi drops in on a head outside single. Turley is wrapped around the waist. Levi keeps pressuring forward & looking for a neutral danger call. Levi keeps working & gets the TD, 3-0. Levi has Turley bellied out now. Levi has a boot in & is looking for a turning combo. Levi has a chicken wing, but Turley is fighting tough. Levi gets Turley bellied out again & goes over 1-min of riding time. Turley gets to his feet & Levi lets him go, 3-1. Tying up again & hand fighting as time expires. 3-1 Levi

Period 2:
Levi takes down. He gets to his feet. Turley lifts him off the mat, but Levi fights for the escape, 4-1. Levi still has +1:09 RT. Hand fighting & circling. Levi shoots, gets to a leg. They're scrambling & they roll & go out of bounds restart. That was a great scramble! Levi presses forward, but time expires without any more action. 4-1 Levi, +1:09 RT

Period 3:
Turley takes down, but Levi quickly gets him bellied out. Levi goes over 90-sec RT. Levi has a figure-4 on the leg & is hammering on Turley from top. Turley keeps working & gets the escape, 4-2. Riding time is secured for Levi, 55-sec left in the 3rd. Levi shoots, but then backs out. Turley shoots, but Levi blocks him off. Levi hits a reshot & gets to the leg. They're scrambling & are head to feet again & the ref blows it for PD, restart. Turley might have had an advantage there & the crowd isn't happy. Turley is charging forward, but Levi fights him off. Levi adds a riding time point for the 5-2 win.
