Snyder incident

ok. fair on all these points.
Also could be that I unfortunately thought the worst and did believe the sources.

The worst being something like what Mike Tyson did, or along these lines. A crime that has a victim.

I reserve the right to believe it’s awful for the program if it goes that route.

Entrapment is inducing someone to commit a criminal act they otherwise wouldn't have commited. Putting an ad in the paper (an offer) and being present when the defendant shows up to accept the offer isn't inducement, there needs to be considerably more encouragment by law enforcement. This is similar to drug buy-and-busts using an undercover in known drug areas. These facts don't come close to entrapment.

I know someone else asked but where are you seeing that reported? I don't see that even being rumored on Twitter. Is it in the police report? (if so, link?)
Before I learned it was online I suspected he stopped by a girl on the street and talked to her. Could of been about anything. Round them up. Let the lawyers sort it out. I guess everyone should reserve opinion until all the facts are out.

Mike Tyson waa convicted of rape.

Let's not get carried away here.

Yes. I was also very clear he would get it reduced to solicitation because he (obviously) didn't traffic.
That doesn't make any sense. It was a state-run sting operation, geograpically contained to a hotel located in that state. Men responded to ads, showed up, were arrested. There was literally no sex worker involved to be trafficked, and there's no federal component of this. Accordingly, there's no indication that federal law enforcement was involved at any point, nor would there be any reason to think there would be. Even if men from other states showed up to answer the ad, they're still going to be charged with state crimes. Which is also why the term "reduced" makes no sense--you can't reduce an apple to an orange, they're two different things--any federal charge would require entirely different set of facts. Besides which, "reduced" in a criminal procedure context applies to charges that have been already brought and were then dismissed, usually due to a plea, a stage Snyder isn't near.

Agreed People need to get over the “there’s no insiders in wrestling “ bs

Too many times it’s real Ono , check
Kerk injured check
Barr not hurt check

But no one would know pffft

Get over your selves
Some of these are not like the others.

It sucks for all involved...(except Snyder, he asked for this)
It just shows you can take the athlete out of Ohio but not take the Ohio out of the athlete... (yeah yeah it was just for yucks)
It's whatever. The gov't meddles in stuff that isn't their business and this is one of them. For sure, crack down on trafficking and people forced into the profession but for those who choose it, people and governments should just mind their own business.

But thats not what happened though…you literally said yesterday that you have sources and that he was federally being charged with human trafficking, in reality he was charged by the state with solicitation…you straight up lied

I'm just telling you what I was told. Obviously, until paperwork is filed, the details were clearly murky. As always, i'll say i was wrong when I am.

It's clearly not federal and was later told this was the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force.

So you're admittedly fast and loose on the facts, but we should just take your word on this "bareback" detail.

It could not have been the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force. That group would have solicited for coerced and/or underage workers. Sex slavery. This was a typical run-of-the-mill sting looking for johns.

Feel free to, or not. I'm quite obviously not the agency that arrested him. Just reporting what I was told from a source that I trust, that I then heard from multiple people.

It was not the central Ohio human trafficking task force , a simple google search of any Ohio based news media would show you it was the Police and Community Together division ( PACT) as they are commonly known, pretty much a committee of local karens and cops

It is possible it was a trafficking task force. They set up a sting and see where it goes. Some might just want a BJ others may inquire about under age sex.

This isn't stopping trafficking, it's a sting operation to arrest people for misdemeanors. People who will pay fines. They are not doing anything to stop actual human traffickers.

And I'm not a guy who wants to legalize prostitution.

I'm not the NYT, WAPO, or whatever news reporting agency you actually believe. LOL.

This is a message board. I get information from a lot of people and I love discussing wrestling. If i'm told I can release information, i probably will.

No, you're not, but you came forward with a signfiicant detail that no one else is reporting. You've posted here for a long time, but that alone doesn't give you credibility. And as soon as I started poking holes in what you'd previously reported you're suddenly "Hey, what do I look like here, Reuters?" Consequently, I'm less inclined to believe the "bareback" detail.

Hey man. Completely fair. Just understand I'm not a newspaper. And also understand I'm not making anything up.

so we're thinking the snyder wrestling camp happening next month is going to get canceled?

Not sure they will cancel, but I'm guessing the services they will be providing will be a bit clearer.

No, someo0e else made something up and you ran with it. I'm no legalize prostitution guy because I believe that enables actual traffickers but I'm also no fan o fa local level sting that claims to be working against trafficking and does this.

Actual police work is time consuming and pricey. they chose low hanging fruit to make some money from fines and get some positive headlines which of course doesn't do a thing to stop actual trafficking.

As for the dummy he should know better. It's best to "know a guy" who knows things so you avoid this situation. If you don't know a guy, you don't know enough to break the law safely.

I was ready to go blow for blow that it should be legalized... But it looks like the inverse of what is happening with marijuana would happen with sex work. Researchers seem to agree it would increase trafficking.

So what the frick is the answer?

Somebody provided materially false information. If you are telling exactly what you were told, then your trusted source (or his /her source) provided materially false information. A charge for human trafficking (mandatory 10 - 15 year prison sentence in Ohio) is a lot worse than a charge for solicitation (maximum 60 days in jail in Ohio). While you and your trusted source obviously have some connections, someone in the chain is being extremely fast and loose with the facts they are being provided.

Some of these are not like the others.
that people wouldn't find out he was charged. yes, people find out things, a lot of the time.
for example, the famous...brace yourself post on the football forum about Sandusky. hey, Nick is transfering out. no one believed him. the point is, people find out and know things..
