Spencer Lee forfeiting out the rest of the tourney.

Thought that would happen. He did the same thing his freshman year when he lost to Ronnie Bresser at Midlands. Medical forfeit out on the backside. People were complaining about it then. He then came out of redshirt that year and won NCAA's.

Losing last night helps those of us who argued with Iowa fans that Nolf was the better wrestler. 4 finals vs 3.
Meh...I don't care about that. Would have enjoyed it more seeing them make Spencer's match the last one and he proceeds to get decked. Just like in movies, I think the "fire works" are best saved for last. Lol

I was having a conversation unrelated to Spencer. It was before he lost. It was actually about Bo Bassett because we passed on the escalator.
I was saying the spotlight is fun when you’re winning. But it cuts like a knife when you are on the other side. You have to have the mettle to live in the spotlight both times. He’s not the first champ to fall, he won’t be the last.

I'm friends with Bos uncle. He went to Nationals but still was there for workouts. Those kids live it 24/7.

I was so hyped at the turn of events during the match and even though Ramos had the lead secured because of back swipes, the fall came with :02 seconds left on the clock. So close to the end.

My opinion:

Does anyone actually believe that he isn't wrestling because of an injury? Had he not been turned and pinned at the end of his match yesterday, does anyone believe he wouldn't be out there tonight? I certainly don't. I actually feel bad for him but I am not surprised he made that decision. I am sorry that he can't find the stength of charachter to go on the mat today and finish his career as the true champion that he has been. He will always have to live with the fact he lost his last collegiate match. Personally I think that says something about his charachter. He doesn't owe anything to anybody but himself. I just think that someday in the future he is going to regret not trying to finish as the champion that he has been.
I tend to agree.

I’m into this only for the arguments.

Looks like he's on the mat for 5th? There you go Spencer. Way to handle it. I'll be sure to stand up and applaud when he steps on the podium tonight. No booing this time through.

Edit: This is not what happened, Lee hasn't made an appearance.

Yeah, I was watching MatCast and initially thought it was Spencer warming up. Ended up being Brands

The beauty is they’re banning folks for saying the things their coaches scream at the opponents for 7 minutes every match.
I'm banned so I didn't participate in any of the extracurricular activities last night on hr. I did cringe a few times as I thought maybe what was said was a little over the top. I also know by reading threads on that forum that most of hr brought this on themselves. Alas, this isn't about hr this is about us and I'm glad I didn't run it in. Bad karma to begin with. As for Lee losing, this was one of the craziest national tournaments I have ever watched. Anyone and everyone was going down and even RBY was behind at some point as was all of our freshman. I continue to get a whole new level of respect for these young men and the sacrifices they make along with their families to get to this point. I really enjoyed watching Levi's post match interview and how he shared how much time and effort was put into his development. That sense of gratitude from PSU wrestlers is what stands out the most when they are in the lime light. We Are

Right. He didn't show for the consi semis, why would he show for the 5th place match.
Hence my confusion. Someone on the Spencer forfeited out of the tournament thread specifically said he walked on the mat and forfeited but nobody mentioned it here?

Agree with every word here.

I just love the irony of the supposedly level-headed folks on that board banning folks for saying exactly what their coach himself says every match and every minute.

Maybe, but I don't so. I'll rewind after the Bartlett and SVN matches. If so, I'll own my mistake. Stand by.
