This weeks W - Iowa Edition (edited)

That was one of many....it took me 30 seconds using the "search". PSU had to be juicing....Zain has acne...no one that strong! You come and tell us nobody ever says anything, I show you one example found very easily, and you make excuses. HR is delusional, and you have now made it your personal mission to being their nonsense over here.

You linked one post from a very long time ago by a poster who is never posting on HR. Who is delusional? If that's your standard goodluck finding a place on the internet that meets your standards. Literally every site with this amount of traffic will have some douches.

How about you do a search on this forum to read some of the things said about the Brands brothers. If you're judging the entirety of HR by one comment who is never around and made that post many months ago then there is nothing else I can say to you.

Just be patient, when PSU wins it again in March and the Hawks fade, they will start again. It is cyclical, like a swarm of locusts (or the Hawkeyes plague). Again, YOU are the one who said it never happened.

Indeed. Thirteen mind-numbing posts since joining the thread on page 3. The dude is nothing if not prolific. If only there was quality to match the quantity.

I'm not the one producing the quantity. You guys are obsessed and love having some contention. Winning championships and duals gets boring after awhile. 5 of you respond for every one of my posts. Funny b/c half the board claimed to have me on ignore.

Ok this is a perfect example. You are claiming I said it never happened right? Let's look at what I said from a direct quote not your misrepresentation of my words: "Did someone claim PSU is juicing? I haven't seen it."

HR has hundreds of thousands of posts. Ofc there are going to be people posting all kinds of sh*t and accusations but to conclude that the consensus of the board is that PSU is juicing? That's ridiculous.

“I haven’t seen it” I show you.... “It doesn’t matter, too long ago and not a regular poster” you just joined Abro as my only other ignored poster!

Every school has guys who COULD be on juice. In fact, w/o regular testing, I would say only Kyle Snyder (as an Olympian) is the only one who we can say with more certainty than others isn't juicing.

In reality? I would guess if Cael caught that crap happening that kid would be on the next bus outta state college. My guess is Penn state wins because its guys happen to be better than the guys the other schools put out on the mat. Realistically speaking 1/40 guys on every team is probably juicing (just statistically speaking). To say PSU is on juice doesn't pass the smell test.... now if they turned ethan lizak's body type into BoJo's? Yeah, then something is fishy lol

I think I saw a youtibe video of Zain crushing a watermelon with his hands. I thought it was easy so I tried. Eventually I did crush the watermelon but only by taking it out back and shooting slugs at it until my shotgun got too hot lol.

The funny thing is PSU posters here are claiming HR holds the collective view that PSU is juicing. HR posters have said PSU wrestlers tend to be lean/lanky technicians ie david taylor, bo nickal, nolf.

If anything OSU/and Okst guys are the ones who don't pass the eye test.

You guys are the returning champs and have the #1 program of the decade. You don't have to play the victim card all the time.

LOL! Roar you aren't that naive to think guys in NCAA athletics aren't on PEDs right?

Just look at the number of former NCAA wrestlers who have gone on to test positive in MMA. Here's a small list:

Johnny Hendricks
Chael Sonnen
Gilbert Melendez
Brock Lesnar
Chad Mendes
Jon Jones (JUCO)
Jon Fitch

Then look at football. You really think none of these guys start the juice until after they graduate?

NCAA PED testing is a complete and total joke.

Seriously? Is this just in sports or in all walks of life?

I understand what your bent is in general, but you went from the shallow end to the deep end with this single post to me. Unfortunately, with apparently no ability to grasp the reality of the situation(s). Be a pain in the @ss all you want, people will either participate, ignore you or b!tch about it, but try your best to stay in your lane.

"You don't have to play the victim card" says a guy in the act of playing the victim card.

wtf u on about?

I'm stating that the consensus on HR is absolutely not that PSU is on PEDs/steroids.

Several posters in this thread are claiming the contrary. That's playing the victim card. Why make drama and cry about a non-issue/non-discussion. Just silly.

I have no skin in this game. I am a wrestling fan who happens to like rutgers. I like watching "fun" wrestling. Bo and Nolf are IMO the two best PSU guys to watch. Then Vincenzo and Hall. Next on that list is Zain. He bores me. Repeated takedowns, bow and arrow... bonus point win. Its like watching a movie for the 75th time. You already know what happens. As a former competitor and coach? LOVE it. As a spectator? Just pin him in 20 seconds and move on to the funk guys!

There are very few guys on HR that stand up to the lunatics, unlike here. DId you see what Sans wrote about a recruits parents posting? If not, you can still find it, maybe its kind of a badge of courage I guess for the tough guy board.

When people say things that are not true even on an anonymous message board, someone needs to or should provide a rebuttal. Do you realize how many people read these boards without posting? Do you realize how many people read these boards and then take this info out into the world? Its growing weekly.

If you dont stand for something, you stand for nothing. In this case saying that our boys are on roids is not only classless but just flat out wrong. I applaud our guys for standing up for our guys and going toe for toe not giving an inch.

You telling us to shut up because we are on top is just insulting and is one of the fundamental problems with our culture. Wrong is wrong whether you are rich, poor, a winner a loser, good or bad, mean or nice. Wrong is wrong.

Im sure you get it, but maybe are just ignoring it as part of your shtick.

noob question, what is HR? My experience with HR is I make a joke, I go to their office, I say sorry, my personnel file gets an update.

I know this is a little off topic but does anybody have any predictions on AA's for the Hawks? I think 5 is best case scenario but wouldn't be surprised to see them getting only 3/4. Where do they finish at NCAA's? My guess is top 10, maybe 7? Is there a chance they don't finish top 10? Curious to hear what everyone thinks.

125 will likely AA. I say Likely because SL is coming off surgery and has been fading late in matches. Can he put together an AA tournament with his current gas tank?

149 is basically a given, so is 157. I would be SHOCKED if 165 doesn't AA.

HWT is a likely AA as well. Cash Wilcke should AA as well. So I get to 6. a 7th is possible considering every year guys come out of nowhere.

They probably finish 4th. PSU, OSU, Michigan, Iowa. Okie State is overrated this year. I will hold action that Dean Heil doesn't AA.

Hawkeye Report, the Rivals site for Iowa.

It's the most active wrestling board. With that comes good and bad. Lots of info -- also lots of nonsense. I go there very rarely due to impatience with the noise.

.

I did see what San posted about Brooks, and in response to his father's post, which was pretty level headed. It definitely went to far, and I am pretty sure he doubled down and did it again. Totally uncalled for. Mr Brooks is a very classy poster, Sans was not!

Spencer Lee could AA with his eyes closed, even without a full tank, It's just a question of how high. Barring injury, I think his absolute floor is 5th. A top three finish is much more likely.

Iowa also gets AA at 149 (lock), 157 (lock, probable champ if Nolf isn't back), 165, and 285. Wilcke has a decent shot at 197, which is not a deep weight class.
So I'll say six AAs for Iowa.

I like that take.. I think 25,49 and 57 are locks and would be a little surprised if Stoll and Marenelli don't AA but not shocked.. I see Cash as a R12 guy but 97 is wide open so AA wouldn't surprise me..

I think Mizzu, NC State and Lehigh fully healthy could surprise a lot of people too. It's going to be a fun spring.

On a side note, you must be a pretty insane Banjo player if you can make it Woof.. Earl Scruggs couldn't pull that off I don't think :)

haha Banjo is my dog. Ironically, he is a breed that doesn't bark much so he really doesn't say woof.

You forgot:

Your one stop shop for complaining about all the unfair things done by wrestling teams you can't beat.

Oh, I can bring that here.... I am an RU fan, the unfair thing and why we can't beat you is your coach is a f'ing legend and our is just a really good coach. Thats not fair. Make Cael rotate teams. Every three years he has to coach at a new place so everyone gets a chance. if PSU board of trustees doesn't like it, they are anti-fair play =)

LOL, That is an interesting coaching concept. But let's be real, we already gave ya a 125lber to use this year that shouldn't have happened!

eh, its tough to say should have happened. I am of the belief that adults ruin sports. Nick is a kid who wanted to go home. Let him go home and wish him well. and if Ashnault wanted to go to PSU I would say the same thing (but again, pizza). Life is too short to be unhappy.

I get the rules part of the discussion, I really do. Rules should be followed, but the idea that in a non-revenue generating sport we need to do this to curtail bribery is silly. They are kids. Let them be where they can develop into the best adult they can be.

What if Cael was only allowed to recruit kids from Alabama? That could make it fair because everyone knows Cael can't develop. :/

Let them recruit our 125 pounder, right out of our wrestling room. This year they will come hard for one our our 197 pounders.

I am not sure, but I think there should be a rule that forbids other programs from recruiting other programs' student-athletes. At least not without obtaining permission.

I don't know or follow the what happened with Nick stuff. It seems like everyone wants to keep it to themselves and call me old fashioned but I respect both sides for keeping it (to the extent possible) to themselves. You shouldn't be allowed to poach. I agree.

Oh and the Cael can't develop thing is annoying and I hate hearing it (again, RU fan and I know I am preaching to the choir). Ashnault (I think) beat Zain a few times in HS. Zain will go down as an all-timer, Ashnault as a really really good wrestler. I am not putting that whole jump on Zain spending time in the gym. He was developed.

Good take Banjo, I agree 100 percent that these "kids" should be allowed to go wherever they feel the most comfortable because being mentally in a good place/happy is almost as important as the physical aspect of the sport. What I don't agree with is coaches calling kids and recruiting them out of their initial commitment. I don't think Rutgers could necessarily do that with a kid at Suriano's level unless the homesickness was already known and RU coaches played on that heavy. I also believe Suriano didn't like being the 5th or 6th best guy on a team. He likes to be the "face" of the program. Not at all saying that's a bad thing or he is a bad person for being that way but its the opposite of the kind of individual that Cael recruits, so I can see why he may not have been happy in the PSU environment.

I would have a lot more respect for the Suriano family in general if they wouldn't have implied foul play with the injury because that is the literal opposite of Cael's track record with injuries. I think Cael errors on the side of caution with injuries in general and trusted what his medical staff said and Suriano used it to get a release from the big ten. Nick could have come out at anytime and told the press that PSU granted the release to end speculation but didn't. I'm glad Nick is at Rutgers and wish him well as he is a great wrestler with a bright future.

Not to rehash everything, but what do you say to a kid like Cortez that sat out his year, per the agreement he made, then he sees that 125lb get whatever he wants. Just seems wrong.
But we can discuss over pizza and beer.

I'm still scratching my head and clearly I'm missing something but last weekend Nick could have been wrestling for the best team in college wrestling in one of the biggest matches of all time. Instead he's wrestling in a meaningless match against Northwestern for a team that's tied North Carolina and lost to powerhouses like Lock Haven, Illinois and Nebraska. If they lose to Minny tonight, that will top it. They haven't beaten any team ranked in the top 15 all season. Since Minny isn't even in the top 20, they will not have beaten any team in the top 15. I just don't get it.

They all learned from the Russians. If you have not seen the documentary on their systematic cheating for decades--I highly recommend (of course with my old brain, i can't remember the title, but you can find it).

Did you see what I said about johnbrooks posts on the forums? I believe someone did tell off Sans for that and Sans is told off often and he also often apologizes. Half the time he's drunk and half the time he's playing a character.

You keep sticking to this point that HR is claiming PSU is on roids. It's just hilarious at this point. Maybe one dude on HR has said that in the last half a year. Yet you talk as if this is the consensus there. That is the definition of playing the whiny victim and making something out of nothing.

Name some from the NCAA, any sport in fact. Your comment is on the judgmental side, sorry to say...looking for facts.

Name some what from the NCAA?

People who have been busted for roids while in University?

You're making my point for me.

The NCAA "tests", but it doesn't test. No one is sitting out due to PED violations in college sports. You really think no football players or wrestlers are using?

They all are clean in University and then magically start popping once they get into the NFL/UFC?

That is incredibly naive.
