There's no game and you can be done if you want but the Giants are better than you're giving them credit for and there's no benefit to Barkley sitting out. Not ne for him or his career.I am done. Ain’t gonna play.

He didn't cave. He did the right thing for himself. Kudos to him. Now they can work on a deal before the gets tagged again.
He didn't cave. He saved. Karma will pay him next year
Barkley and Jacobs are probably two best HR threats at position but simply the way it is. It is 'grind em up and throw them away' type position. You can only hope to find a team/OL where don't get abused and can survive for a several years. SB was not so lucky. He did everything possible his first two seasons to get extra yard for NYG and the toll on his body was severe. Total team leader and pro but just not valuedHe didn't cave. He saved. Karma will pay him next year
I haven't seen the whole thing but there is some speculation that he can go full free agent after this year without a tag. So maybe he took the low $11m for 2023 with the hopes of getting a much larger contract in 2024. Big year for Saquon! He didn't cave. He saved. Karma will pay him next year
Undervalue him? Are you his agent? He doesn't have to be Peyton for people to undervalue him

The bottom line is he got a new and better deal.![]()
Saquon Barkley incentives tied to individual performance, Giants making playoffs
Running back Saquon Barkley will be joining the Giants at training camp after agreeing to a one-year deal that can pay him a bit more than the $10.091 million he would have made if he signed the franchise tag the team used on him early in the offseason.www.nbcsports.com
No such language according to this.
The incentives are pretty high too. 1350 rushing yards (career high 1302), 11 TDs, 65 receptions.
He got $2 mil for signing.
The key is--he gets a year to work out a long term deal. If the Giants tag him again and he wants to take a firmer stance I get it but that's going to be about 12.7M which is probably going to be tough to get on the open market. I like the realistic incentives for receptions and TDs--those are doable. Rushing yards will be tough.![]()

He's undervalued by most fans. People here talk about how rough Saquon had it playing behind a line but ignore that Jones played behind the same line. We saw Jones take a gigantic step forward last year. He's highly intelligent, accurate and mobile. He's not an elite QB but can be a second tier guy. There's a ton of QBs I'd take Jones over.Undervalue him? Are you his agent?
The Giants OL has improved greatly since he and Jones first arrived. It's not elite but it's nowhere near as bad as you claim. If the dim bulb OC, or QB would pass to Barkley the receiver corps would benefit as would the QB and the offense in total.
The OL short comings aside...
The Giants outside of Barkley is like watching paint stay wet forever.
It's new. I'm not sure that it's better. Saquon signed it.The bottom line is he got a new and better deal.

Hold out until the season starts and skip camp. It's new. I'm not sure that it's better. Saquon signed it.
How can he take a firmer stance?
Rushing yards would be 40+ yards over his career high. TDs would tie career high (it's listed as rushing, not total where I read). Receptions would require his 2nd best output. And another playoff berth.
The incentives are reachable, but it requires him to be 40% or more of the offense again.
Hold out until the season starts and skip camp.
Incentives shouldn't be easy--they should be for exceeding expectations. I think 1250-1300 would have been better for the rushing yards but i think the other numbers. 65 receptions in that offense should be something he hits if he stays healthy. Looking at less than 4 a game.
This year--he needed to sign the tag immediately once they couldn't reach a long term deal. Next year--if he waits until a week before the season starts that would be acceptable. He still can't miss games or sit out a season. You have said he should sign the tag all along. You never once said he should hold out until the season starts and skip camp. Why are you saying that now?
My point about the incentives is that they are counterproductive. He's gotta be the man to get them and hope 52 others hold up their end of the bargain. What if they are 12-2 with 3 games left and he's shy on receptions and rushing yards. They will start resting him and limiting his touches. Then if he gripes, he's labeled selfish.
Pretty simple, he was wrong as usual so now he needs to make it seem like he was right all along. You have said he should sign the tag all along. You never once said he should hold out until the season starts and skip camp. Why are you saying that now?
