I don't completely understand the troll deal. For example, is it posters that we know are Iowa fans (they have an Iowa handle or image) that are over here just posting stuff that will p*ss us off? Or is it people we think are PSU fans (PSU Natty?) that are on here saying stuff that is obnoxious and something a real PSU fan would never say? Is that a Iowa covert troll? Or both of the above?

I feel like there are people with their handle and image are portraying themselves to be PSU fans, but are really not. I see them over at the HR board making PSU look bad, saying things any sensible person could not believe.

After a period of trolling, there was a guy a few years back who with every post only received discussions about food. It got pretty hilarious after a while until eventually he disappeared. I can't recall his handle (maybe it was 21Guns) but it was effective.

Ok guys resist the temptation to respond to this post with food commentary, I am ahead of you just this one time.

The Ignore feature is a beautiful thing...
It really is. Once in awhile you'll get completely lost on a thread, but it's still worth it. I never find myself asking "Whatever happened to TameGreek? He don't write anymore".

Hmmmm

BTW - talking about food, I had Pizza at my favorite place anywhere last night, Flatbread Pizza in Maui. If any of you ever get the chance you should take it. It's in a little town a few miles east of the airport on the road to Hana. We usually go there after flying in our on the way out as a mandatory stop. This time we went twice already, once on the day in, and last night after the road to Hana. We had a celebrity sighting when Owen Wilson walked in with his family. Tried to keep the wife and daughter from gawking, and put my foot down to ensure they didn't interrupt them with silly requests for selfies or autographs. Dispute my general disappointment with celebs and all of the PC causes and politics, giving them a little peace and quiet in public is always on my list. 5 of us ate 3 pizzas, I kid you not.

On second thought, as for my rule re: celebs, I can't promise that I wouldn't be a blithering idiot fool, stumbling on my words if I ever run into Cael someday.

The handle was ghost K, undoubtedly by KK the forum Killer. KK might already be back as natty, as I think Chickenman astutely pointed out.

Trolls are primarily interested in getting a rise out of people. They may or may not be legitimate fans. But what drives them is getting people pissed off. The can see your red-face as you respond and, sadly, THAT is what makes them happy. The first, best response, is to simply ignore them. They'll move on if they get zero responses. DON'T FEED THE TROLLS.

That said, there are some who just come across as harsh in their use of language. If the person seems to have interest in actually discussing wrestling -- they may fit into this category. And a few, well reasoned responses may help them be less annoying. If you do feel like you must respond it's always better to not come across as annoyed yourself.

A hot dog is most definitely a sandwich...just in case you were wondering.

If you love hot wings or just pouring Frank's onto random food and you haven't had Indian food before, do yourself a very big favor. Go find an Indian restaurant and give it a go. There is wingdump competition nuclear heat, but Indian food has spices and flavors. Trust me, it will change your world view.

Thai food>Indian

PSUNATTY2020 appeared to me to be surreptitiously fishing for info in a way to get a rise out of the board. That's quintisential trolling, IMHO. I was surprised Slush gave PSUNATTY2020 the benefit of the doubt.

Some trolls pollute multiple threads with the same BS lines or even plain nonsense. I've little patience for that.

I was a longtime lurker, who eventually created a Rivals account only for the Ignore feature (a countermeasure for a certain HR regular). I even ignore some erstwhile PSU fans here. But when I check out HR, I ignore no one, as I inhale the cesspool fumes in all their glory.

Didn't realize how sensitive you guys are. Damn. Yes we all love Nevills but he may not even qualify for NCAAs and even if he does hed only score a few points. Not sure whats so horrible about saying the truth. Guess no realist things can be said on here.

Seth is a damn good wrestler, more athletic than his older brother (who was damn good, too). Barring injury, Seth will almost certainly qualify for NCAAs, and he has a very good shot at becoming an AA. He’ll score more than a few points along the way.

No...I'm sure there are others here that agree with you. It's just sometimes you give the impression that your level of love for a guy depends on what he does for the team in March. It rubs people the wrong way..

Anyone who agrees with "Nevills may not even qualify for NCAAs" is not worth listening to.

Last year, B10 got 9 HWTs into nationals. Nevills is right now the 5th best conference heavy behind Steveson, Parris, Cass, and Hillger (with the potential to beat Hillger). Luffman and maybe Traub could make him work but shouldn't beat him. That's it.

He's making nationals and getting a mid-range seed. What he does from there, we'll see.

Lol, the truth. You have no idea of any outcome regarding Seth. Just because you make a statement, doesn't make it true. It's an opinion, that's it.

I'm a die hard Iowa fan who is predicting Seth will finish as high as 4th but certainly somewhere in the top 8, and as a Hawks fan, barring injury or some illness that prevents him from wrestling these next couple months, cannot imagine a scenario where he doesn't qualify. He brings too much talent and is training with too much talent. But that's not why I entered BWI this evening. My question is: Now that Cael has stated that Rasheed will wrestle at 97, do you all have any knowledge regarding the timeline? Do you see him in the lineup this weekend against Illinois and NW? Thank you in advance.

Hah, we hope to see Shak this weekend, but we don’t know. Hopefully, since it was announced officially he was going 197, he will be going this weekend.

just read this in the CDT story posted in another thread.

Sanderson said former All-American Rasheed has been medically cleared and will be good to go for this weekend’s duals against Illinois and Northwestern.

I think we see Shak this Friday against Illinois. It will also be interesting to see who they send out at 125lbs and 157lbs.

Think you meant 125 and 149.

Edit: I was unaware that Berge may not go -- it will be interesting to see who Cael puts out there at 125, 149 and 157.

A hot dog is obviously a taco and if you disagree meet me outside of the Skeller at 7 PM tonight!
Good Lord...a hot dog is definitely NOT a taco. The earliest I could meet you at the Skeller (Does it still exist?) would be after the Northwestern match!! Wouldn't it be better if I met you INSIDE the Skeller?

The Skeller is now Doggies. I figured they wouldn't want us fighting INSIDE the establishment but if that's what it takes to settle this internet argument then so be it. I'll have my attorney meet us at the police station.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to have a wrestle off?
