U20 World Team Trials & U23 Nationals - May 31-June 2

It’s almost sad. Kueter could be absolutely great but with football being the main priority he will never reach his full potential. That has to be a kick in the nuts for the Iowa wrestling faithful
Well, GIA just lost 40 points (Alirez, Steveson) from their 143 point 2024-25 lineup that was going to challenge PSU for the NCAA team championship. So Kueter is next in line.

We’re PSU coaches in the corner of all of wrestlers but Desmond, Blaze and Bassett?

Any chance he chooses wrestling? I assume not
Kueter look good.....and much improved. He is only a freshman in both sports. If Iowa football doesn't choose him as a starter in 2 years......he will choose wrestling......and be very good. Hoping he is World Champ after U20s

I didn't pay attention to the coaches unless they came out on the mat during injury time or for a challenge brick, so I can't say for certain.

Best of 3 Finals Match #3 U20 86kg- Joshua Barr vs Aeoden Sinclair

P1:
Here we go with match #3!
Circling in the center, Barr with a quick shot, but Sinclair fights it off
Sinclair working a front headlock, but Barr fights out of it & they're back to center
Tying up & breaking apart
Sinclair is wearing Mirasola's singlet & the announcers were confused for a bit. Lol
2-min left
Sinclair with a slick high crotch, Barr sits the corner & gets a TD, 2-0
Askren throws the brick. Gotta love the barefoot coach!
Under review- Long review
Challenge lost, point Barr, 3-0
Back to action, Sinclair in on a leg, Barr crotch lock & rolls him over for another exposure, 5-0
1-min left
Back to center circling, tying up & breaking apart
30-sec left
Circling, tying up & pushing as the period expires
5-0 Barr

P2:
Lets go Joshua!
Circling, Sinclair pushing forward, Barr shoots, Sinclair sprawls,
Sinclair shoots, Barr counters, but they're back on their feet, no scoring
2-min left
Sinclair shoots, Barr counters & gets a pushout, 6-0
Barr looking great with the counters this match!
Back to center tying up, Sinclair pushing forward
Sinclair in on a leg, Barr fights out of it & he's working for a TD, gets it! 8-0 Wow!
Barr is rocking!
Back to neutral
Barr shoots in, Sinclair sprawls, Barr keeps working & gets another TD & a Tech. Wow!

Joshua Barr TF Aeoden Sinclair 10-0, Josh Barr wins the best of 3 finals (2-1). What a performance!
Askren is churning out freaking studs, but Casey develops animals who chew up studs.

So 4 of the 6 Olympic FS team members are from the NLWC and 5 (2 others could be) of the 10 U20 FS team are NLWC members. That from a varsity team that just won the NC by a record 100 pts. with four champs and two runners up who were very close to winning. That’s the definition of dominance in any the sport!

Don't look now but Cochran absolutely p-pounded Lenny Pinto. And it wasn't just one of those "freestyle" wins.

The only letdown was that I didn't see Manning in the corner.
Cael called him and let it slip blowing kisses again could be Manning's bug meets windshield moment. Manning being self aware of his tendency to just fall into his natural asshat persona decided to stay out of sight. The man only acts the idiot.

I think this might be our best U20 team ever. So much firepower. Past world placers are Lilledahl (2X U17, 1 U20,) Blaze (u17), Bassett (U17), Lockett (U17), Ryder (2X U17), Kueter (U20) with Lilledahl, Blaze, Bassett, Lockett, and Kueter all winning gold. I do wonder if the Iranian heavy Masoumi is still U20 eligible. I think he is but not sure. I’m excited to start seeing entry lists so I can put together my preview

If the kid is going to wrestle at Iowa better to do it part time. If he wrestled full-time that staff would have more time to beat all the offense out of him.

Here comes MSU158 to explain how Iowa will knock us off next year 😂 😂 😂

He will use the Pythagorean therom and quantum physics as usual 😂 😂 😂
His flights of fancy to explain how all their middle and upper weights will magically improve while ours stagnate = comedy gold and the delusions of a maniac

I do like how some discuss Angelo vs Zack. Well, it’s hard for them to match up when Angelo deigns to wrestle about twice a year.

I think it’s a very good sign he chose to come to u20s. He will now be wrestling till first week of September missing a lot of summer training camp. He is also pretty far down on the depth chart at his position so it wouldn’t surprise me if he chose wrestling.
And adding a wrestling scholarship to tnt if it even matters now.
