(and perhaps Franklin). From what I understand, UGA has been trying to schedule you guys for a home and home series in '26 and '27, but we keep being told 'thanks, but no thanks...not interested.' This is absurd, as a home and home would be an amazing experience for both schools. UGA just announced this morning a home/home with Ohio State in '30/'31, and I know they are looking to schedule more home/home series with Big 10 powers, to go along with upcoming series against Texas, UCLA, Clemson, and FSU.

As a UGA alum now living in the Mid-Atlantic region with many PSU friends/family, it's a shame that TPTB at PSU aren't interested in making this happen.

I'll defer to you scheduling experts but it looks like this could fit in our schedule with the game in the Beave in '26 and at UGA (or in ATL?) in '27.

With the 9 big ten conference games there are only 3 OOC games to schedule each year. Of those, there is only 1 game available for a home/ away series every 2 years (for PSU to keep 7 home games that are needed to fund the university’s 32 (or so) sports programs).

The problem in 2026 and 2027 is that (for some unknown reason) PSU has already scheduled Temple for the home/away team those 2 years. They would need to buy out Temple and replace them with Georgia.

I think most would much rather see a Georgia series, but I’m not sure what financial penalty PSU would have to pay to free up the schedule.

Smells like BS. UGa has GT as a fixture on its OOC. Then it schedules one P5 and two tomato cans. Already has UCLA in 26 and FSU in 27. So unless everyone expects those two teams to remain tomato cans, I think UGa's dance ticket is already punched.

Lol, tell your AD he's doing it wrong and to just have his wife contact her on Twitter. Make sure she expresses a little fake outrage.

Agreed. The only way Georgia is looking for opponents in that time frame is if a scheduled series is being cancelled. Which might happen, but it would be odd if both the UCLA and FSU series were being cancelled.

That said, sure, would love to see a future series with UGA. As far as we know, PSU is wide open and available for games from 2028 onward.

Many here ENVY your limited disappointment with TPTB at PSU.

This has to be true ... the Op probably heard it on local sports-talk radio. And if it's talked about by the experts on such information dens as 680 The Fan then it must be true.

Just checked Georgia’s future OOC games and they appear to be scheduling very well, especially if they really are looking to add Penn St in 2026 and 2027.

They do have more flexibility with 4 OOC games a year but full credit to UGA.

2026
-UCLA
- Western Kentucky
-Georgia Tech

2027
-Florida St
-Georgia Tech

2028
-Texas
-Florida St

2029

That would/will be some impressive scheduling..... if those games actually take place (time will tell).

Maybe they will play them all... maybe they won't.

If they do, it will represent a radical departure from past UGA scheduling. In addition to their annual end of season game w GaTech…. UGA's recent (last 10 years) OOC games have been:

Murray St
Arkansas St
Austin Peay
Middle Tennessee State
UMass
Appy State (2)
Notre Dame (2)
Samford
UNC
Nicholls State
Louisiana Lafayette (2)
Louisiana Monroe
Southern
GA Southern (2)
Clemson (2)
Troy
Charleston Southern (Is that even a school?)
North Texas
Buffalo
Florida Atlantic
Boise St
Coastal Carolina
New Mexico State
Colorado
Idaho St

Over the last 10 years..... 30 OOC games..... UGA has scheduled (and played ) SIX P5 level games (2 each against Clemson and ND, and games against UNC and Colorado)
And have scheduled at least one D1-AA school every year for the least 15 years.

True, but most schools OOC schedules are usually pretty weak. It does appear they have changed philosophy and are taking a different approach from 2026 on (at least so far).

I just personally called Sandy and Franklin to put some pressure on. They both responded with "Who is this? Don't call here again".

I'll try back in an hour.

Ga is ahead of the curve positioning themselves well for the playoffs expanding to eight teams. Their strength of schedule will position them for serious consideration for a wildcard slot in case they do not win the SEC. the present CF playoff agreement expires in 2025. My observation is Penn State seems to be going slower than others like tOSU and GA.

How will UGa's "strength of schedule" position them for a wildcard slot if it results in two or three losses?

Might be tough when they have 2 losses before conference play starts.

Also, IMHO, the correct number for a playoff is 6.
2 options

1 P5 champs
6th is either ND, non-P5 champ, or conference runner-up

2 The 6 highest ranked conference champs or ND. Must be ranked in Top x

If you are second in your conference, we already know you are not the best team in the country. #WinningMatters

you know the answer to this.. it depends on the relative comparison to others in contention.

Obsessed? No.
Revulsed? Absolutely.

There are only three things that disgust me - - - - and I am well aware of what they are:

A) Adamant ignorance (probably #1 on my list)
B) Abject stoopidity
C) Blatant hypocrisy.

Sandy is a relatively rare (but not rare enough) beast who possesses all three - in spades. That gives her a special place in my heart, for sure.

Awweeee...you like her !

I mean you like her, like her !

I do have to say your other post about the AAD was GD funny !o_O

Yeah, there ain't gonna be three non-conference champions with fewer than 2-3 losses. If UGa's AD is betting on that, he's a bigger idiot than PSU's.

They are also hurting their chances under the current 4 team system. The committee has shown that if you're in a P5 conference and go undefeated, you're in. The easiest path for that is to schedule the weakest non-conference slate possible and to win the tough conference games. Of course that leaves no margin for error, but it's the path of least resistance right now. Scheduling a brutal non-conference slate helps a team's case if they have a loss, assuming the rest of the field hasn't gone undefeated, such as OSU in 2016.

You lose me when one team gets special consideration.
