It is my understanding that a player can withdraw his name from the transfer portal at any time. I would assume that he is then a member in good standing with the football program. It is also my understanding that PSU may cancel his scholarship once the player’s name has been put into the transfer portal database.
What happens to the player’s standing with the team if PSU has not canceled the scholarship ? Can the player participate in any or all team activities while in the transfer portal, such as the winter conditioning drills, spring practice and B-W game. Can the player take advantage of academic tutoring and nuetritional programs provided by the football program?
I apologize if this has been addressed and covered, but I do not recall having seen any articles or write-ups addressing this type of situation.
