What will be different next year?

Completely disagree. All I’ve seen from Stevens in the pocket is a freelancer so far. It’s by far my biggest worry about him.

McSorley is probably the most instinctive QB we’ve ever had at working the pocket. Guys who don’t have height, usually know how to work the passing lanes better.
When have you seen Stevens throwing? Prob won’t be as good as Trace. But, you can make your offense successful by emphasizing what he does best. Trace has made it easy because of his toughness, feet and deep ball ability. More work for the OC. Our offense can be better next year. Even if the QB isn’t quite as good.

And what changed for Michigan this year from last year? They shouldn’t be winning, they have a first year QB and the same guys they had last year. Plus Harbaugh still coaches the same way. Growth and development mean a lot.
They've had QB's developed by Iowa, Houston, and Mississippi respectively, defense is another matter.

Stevens will be fine and so would Clifford. Neither are likely to have the creativity on broken plays that McSorley does. The unknown at this point are the intangibles that McSorley has.

A lot will be different next year with PSU and all our opponents. That's college football. We might be a better team and still have to suffer thru another 10-2 type year.

It’s as if Bdgan has never watched college football before.

People just don't appreciate the pressure on our fans.
That's hilarious.

McSorley has carried the 2018 PSU offense to the same degree that MJordan carried the Bulls, and LJames carried the Cavaliers......

And “there is gonna be no drop off”?

LMAO

If this board had a “stupid filter”, I would be 98% lighter on game weekends.
I wish someone would have told Clemson that when they lost Watson. Or back in 2005 when MRob became our starter for his one and only year. Good players make a lot of QB’s great, so if the defense can improve and the WR’s can start catching next year, who knows where this team can go.

Then I predict the stampede back onto the band wagon will be humongous.
A veritable tsunami of slobbering, shouting fanboys professing undying love for CJF.

Marshall, you and Omar are on a roll today with your characterizations of the board. "There can be no 'in-betweens'." "You are either for or against us!" The emotions after each game are like watching the ebb and flow of the tides. Always has been. Always will be. Keep at it. It's noble work you're doing.

I don’t know if next years team will be “better” or “worse”...... wouldn’t even venture a guess.

But I know McSorley has carried a (in many ways) schematically dysfunctional offense on his back this year..... to the point where his team is an eyelash away from being in the “playoff” picture.

The thought :) expressed by some knucklehead that “he won’t be missed” is simply idiotic..... whether I point it out or not.

Actually, I think the EXACT quote I was responding to was:

“... No drop off at QB..... “. FACT!!! LOL
It will be difficult to not drop off, but it may be possible, but in different ways. If Stevens or Clifford come in and start slinging the ball all over the yard and out receivers actually catch the ball, there may not be a drop off. College programs have to be able to overcome losing players regardless of who they are.

You imply that the converse is certain, that there will be a decline in QB performance. How do you know this? How is it "FACT?" You used that word not me. Further, you added words like "won't be missed" and made it look like that's what I wrote.

The OP called for prognostication. I gave mine. You decided to take the path of condescension, which seems to be your "norm."
