I'm going through it now. I'm early in the final (5th) season. (No final season spoilers please.) It's pretty darn good, although the first part of the last season I'm watching now is kinda slow.
I kinda get the impression they planned to end it after four seasons then changed their mind. The build up at the end of the 4th season felt like the end of the series but it wasn't.
Maybe he should have quit making meth after season 4 and the imminent danger was gone. He said he was 40 K in debt because of how much he had spent but also he did have the car wash that he bought free and clear for about 850 K. And now (early season 5 I mean) he's pissing away lots of money on expensive sports cars. I think he lost his focus of providing for his family and instead is getting caught up in being a drug dealer and making a lot of money. Maybe that's part of the point the series is making.
Anyway, I'd be interested to hear what others thought of it.
