I will be happy just to get all 10 November starters into March healthy. It's a long session, and the season for discussing points at nationals is months away, too much can happen between now and then.

159/300 is just barely above 50%. If we can't get to 200 (66%, or "passing") I'm concerned for the program's long-term viability.
Agreed. Hard to admit with all our riches, but even in March, I’ll take a 1-point team win over any runnerup (Nebraska is my darkhorse for #2), one first-time individual title, and AB majoring AJ Anus from corn country. I’m clearly not as greedy as some here, but certainly won’t mind if those with such crazy-high expectations get all they want.
I think Howard will finish top 5 this season.
It's certainly not out of the question given how much the weight has cleared out. Obviously, health is the biggest concern with Robbie.
Does anyone know if Howard wrestled off already (since they were sending starters out to represent the team today)

The projected points are only an approximate??? I know you know a lot of people in this sport, so is there any possible way you can get us actuals?

That's everyone maxing out their placement more or less on the same weekend though, which we know is very improbable but that would be 159 before bonus. Some points from 125 would help but better to just assume nothing there for now (which is frustrating because that is a very open class)

The three point takedown rule could help inch toward the record, right? A team with aggressive scorers should have the potential for more tech falls with this year’s scoring rules.
If we’re predicting, I’ll bite. Team title win, at least 20 pts under record, 3 individual crowns, 8 AA’s. More than happy with that. Confidence tempered by humility is fine. Arrogance isn't a good look and tends to backfire. But, hey, it’s preseason, so have at it.
Iowa set the record with multiple wrestlers out performing their placements. If any team is to break the record, the same will have to hold true. A team entering the tourney with their seeds plus projected bonus exceeding 170, is pretty much impossible, even for PSU.

On balance the October 2023/24 PSU squad is the strongest I have ever seen in terms of potential. It will take a "perfect storm" to get there, and if not this season, even in future years augmented by the portal

Actually the incremental point to get to a major may be the bigger oppt’y realistically, over the half point to get to a tech. And I’m guessing the number of decisions >> number of majors to start with.

Agreed with this, both in terms of frequency and consequence.
Also, some pinners will lose 0.5 pts due to earlier TF stoppages. A team full of Jason Nolfs (if only!) would lose some points, also would run away with the title and not care about losing those points.
Rough language, but I do refer to Iowa’s latest savior as “the talking anus” or “AJ Anus,” so I’m no better. Not sure what Willie did to Wild to spark the graphic outburst, but maybe they can hug it out?
