Willie's take on top recruits...

Hofman19 linked the Flo article earlier today in the InterMat Top 50 Juniors thread. Just sayin.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if Fix and Singletary jump on board with PSU. Both weights are wide open and of need. Berge to Minny is my pick. Warner to Illinois.

That would be AWESOME !!!! PRAYING CAEL IS PUTTING A FULL COURT PRESS ON FIX SINGLETARY AND ESPECIALLY DAVID CARR....FIX AND CARR ARE THE MAIN TO I AM PRAYING CAEL IS GOING HARD FOR RIGHT NOW...HAVING FRANK IN THE ROOM EVERY DAY SHOULD REALLY HELP WITH FIX !!!!
 
Landis Fix would be nice but I doubt he turns Okie State down. I'd love to see Carr at PSU. Any rumors as to where he's leaning?

Supposedly Carr wears Buckeye swag at all tournaments. But we've seen how much that can matter (or not matter)

I would be surprised if you were right on Fix, Warner and Berge. Fix really is OSU's to lose...great partners, good buddies and a legacy. He can beat the guys already there. Stranger things have happened though. Berge to Iowa orPurdue, and Warner to Iowa. Huge need for Warner and he could come in and start. Berge is a little bit more complicated but he says he wants to go 149 which would put him right there once Sorensen leaves.

One of my friends sons was roommates with Carr at a camp last week in WV. His father was a clinician. Talked to my friends son this past weekend at the shore and he said that they talked about where he wanted to go to college. PSU was asked about (by my sons friend) and he definitely had interest but also stated "I have no idea where I'm going to go."

Thanks for the info dice. I'm sure all of the elite kids have some interest in PSU given their recent success. Especially those who reside in the eastern part of the country. Thanks again for providing some first-hand info...

He would be a huge get. What's the general census on what weight he'll slot in at in college? We do have Lee at roughly the same weight. Also, i'm sure Cael is recruiting him but as you said his brother is at Cornell...

Want Fix and Carr, sure. Need them? We did OK without Snyder, Gwiz, Jordan, Ashnault, Kindig, and any number of other guys who went elsewhere.

And why bother Cael with recruiting tips? Unless, of course, you know more about wrestling than Cael Sanderson.

I had forgotten about, and dont remember seeing discussion of kid Bo Pipher from Colorado who committed to us back in May; 145 lbs as Sr; big pinner.

I hate to tell you this but I think he's going to Iowa. I saw an interview where college was being discussed and he spoke as if he was already in their room. I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere other than Iowa. I'm like Diceman, give me Whitlake and Beard and Im completely happy.

And how does Iowa afford all these guys in the 17 class? They already have Renteria, Troy, Mejia, and Lee and they are now going to add Warner and Berge? Who is walking on from "out of state".

This is in line with what another PSU poster wrote after Penn State wrapped up its fifth title in six years in MSG. The guy sat next to the Fix family and reported they bleed the orange of OSU. Longshot at best, IMHO, even for Cael.

We have four starters that are graduating in 2017. Some guys coming in require $$$ based on financial need, some don't. I always find it ironic that PSU fans are raising the eyebrow at how we could bring in that many good recruits. Truth is, none of us know who qualifies for what or how Cael or Tom manage their 9.9.

I'm getting the sense that the coaches are really focused in on the incoming Junior class over the Senior class. Much like how they held back to a certain degree for 2015 and then they went all in for the 2016 recruits they have coming in this Fall. The 2018 class could very well be another slammer.

You're probably right. And the class of 2018 is loaded too. Against what everyone believes though, I still have this feeling Caels getting a "shocker" here soon. And it's Fix...

I would love for you to be right on this one. I believe I read somewhere that Daytons father is a very good friend of Smith. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Fix has his heart set on PSU but feels the obligation to Okie State. Tough choice for the kid but in the end he'll be very successful regardless of where he ends up.

Yeah. I mean let's face it, on the surface the chances he goes anywhere but Okie State are slim to none. Like I said, it's just a gut feeling pretty much but there are a few small signs I'm seeing that it's maybe not so cut and dry. We will see soon enough but either way, Cael is killing it in bringing in his guys. I won't be disapointed in the least..

I almost wish this were pinned: Fix's father was Smith's teammate at Okie State. They live in suburban Tulsa, an hour from Stillwater. He is completely familiar with that program.

Having UNC on his list says how much time he's spent at OSU -- that's how he knows Scott.

Never say never, but this is pushing a rope.

You are completely right. It would be an amazing coup if someone snatches Fix from OSU. Don't worry though, no need to pin the thread. I'll pull it up myself and admit I was wrong. Lol

Ok, thanks for the clarification regarding his father. We'll all find out in November as I believe that's when he's announcing on Flo.

I read somewhere that Fix has a cousin that's wrestling for UNC. I don't know if that correct but could also be a reason they made the list.
 
Could happen...sometimes even blood relation can't change a guy's heart.
