Team already in Iran, Frank and DT among them. Group sessions Thursday, start 1 am ET, last match starts 8 am ET. Placement matches Friday -- see article for timing. Real good chance we'll be in the 3rd place match (7:30 am ET) or finals (9 am ET).

We're in the opposite group away from Iran.

Should be a rugged two days for DT. 86 kg looks to be the toughest weight class at the event. Every guy he wrestles is likely to have a world ranking. I'm sure he's looking at it as a great opportunity!

Marsagishvili, who took bronze at 2012 Olympics, took no shots, DT took a ton. So of course DT went on the clock in the first, trailed 3-0. Got to Marsagishvili's legs easily as match went on, Marsagishvili kept grabbing ankles to get a stalemate. Just after DT broke through to go up 4-3, he caught Marsagishvili off the whistle for a feet to back double.



An unenergetic Burroughs beat a backup by criteria, 2-2 at 74kg. All pushout points. Dake probably feeling good after that.

Yes, I think it is. Dato and 125kg are their only top guys, I believe. Rest are b or c team. I'm pretty sure Dato beat Cox last year at the World Cup, so that's a great win for DT.

Dato clearly gassed against DT starting starting around early second period. DT deserves credit for pushing the pace but Dato looked ready to lose to anyone with a pulse

2-2 at end of one for Stieber. Stieber lost 2 on a crazy counter at end of 1st. It looked like he was on his way to pin or at least turn Rassadin. Lots of action in 2nd. Both exchange takedowns then Stieber rolls through a Rassadin shot for 2 and a pushout (or lost challenge - not sure which). Wins 7-4. Entertaining match

Frank gIves up an early 2 then gets a nice takedown. He is the agressor so he'll be put on the clock soon... 2-2 after 1. In on a lot of shots in 2nd still no clock for Russian. Russians are whining over something giving there guy a breather. Russian in deep off of whistle gets 2. Frank counters - gets 1? USA challenge. I don't understand freestyle. Iranians chanting USA - weird... USA awarded another point but Russian wins on criteria 4-4. Jacked up.

Frank just lost 4-4. I don't understand what happened. It was 2-2. The Russian shot on Frank's leg. Frank defended and exposed the Russian's back twice, each time also exposing his own back. Frank ended up on top of the guy riding with his leg ride, and could not get the turn. The score board became 4-3 in favor of the Russian. On appeal, the score became 4-4, with the Russian winning.
