Snyder steps out on way to a td so gives up 1, 6-1. Snyder td. Snyder pushout. Russian actually shows a little offense pushout on td attempt 9-2. Snyder td 11-2. Couldn't quite finish a pushout at end. Final 11-2

Dan Lobdell of Flo (@wrestlingNomad on Twitter), who knows the int'l scene really well, said there was a possibility DT could go 0-4 this tournament. DT seems to be benefiting from having the gas tank of a guy a weight class or two below, similar to how Snyder benefits. DT is constantly leaning into opponents now, whereas when he first started FS he'd mostly set up shots from space.

Nice article here in the Washington Post

American wrestlers in Iran welcomed with roses and selfies
By Erin Cunningham February 16 at 10:36 AM

The Americans were greeted in Iran with red roses, smiling fans and a barrage of selfies. No diplomatic crisis here.

with talk of a new EO on immigration being reported as any time now, the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if its being held up waiting on our boys to board their planes home.

He's got Sharipov tomorrow, former Olympic gold and 2016 bronze medalist.

Anyone know when round three is for USA? I've seen tonight 4:30 and 7:30.

I'll buy a consonant for 1,000 Alex.

DT looked great. The Russian was gassed halfway through the first period. What's up with his conditioning?

thanks for posting, dunk; very entertaining

can't get over the physical transformation of DT
Just 9 years ago he was winning an Ohio state HS championship at 112, and then 135 in 2009 as a HS senior
then wrestled 157 and 165 for PSU
Talk about putting on "good weight"; he looks fully developed at the intl equivalent of 189#

One thing that hasn't changed -- his pace and ability to wear out opponents

we should compare his walk onto the mat or back to the center from his freshman year to now.. he has certainly filled out!
