World Cup starts zero-dark-thirty Thursday morning

Just wow!!! I can not believe how he dominated the whole match against a completely gassed opponent only to get thrown to his back for a 4 pointer right near the end to lose. Still could have won at the very end when he has guys leg and does not finish. Unreal.

Wow.

I'm not going to play spoiler, but that was some decent action.

Stieber, Green, JB, DT, & Snyder matches were all really interesting or exciting.

Stieber in a barnburner!! Down to the wire.

Green dominant in 10-0 Tech.

I don't quite understand the ending of the JB match.
EDIT: Burroughs was losing 5-1, but AZE was put on shot clock TWICE, JB started to attack and break him, hit two push outs to make it 5-3 then 5-4, and I think the ref DQ'd AZE with a minute left ? Burroughs was actually losing at time of DQ. Wild.

DT looked phenomenal!! Classic DT.

I feel bad for Frank. Kid he faced was really tough. Frustrating match.

Snyder match ... wow. Didn't expect that ending.

Ramos lost a close one. He wrestled well. He also showed amazing sportsmanship helping his exhausted opponent even in defeat.

Stieber always playing with fire. Just can not play it safe when he has a big lead.

Frank wrestled poorly, just being honest.

Green looked amazing! Super fast and just blew through his guy.

Burroughs opponent stalled his ass off the whole match. He did hit one nice counter on JB for a 4 point move. But Jordan showed great determination and aggressiveness wearing him out. Not sure what happened(iffy on freestyle rules) but I know JB won and took the dudes heart.

DT looked real good out there. Just seems too skilled, slick and in shape.

Snyder just straight up choked. He would even admit that.

Gwiz lost 3-1. Almost got to a leg near the end.

I'm a freestyle novice, but to me it seemed like Frank had some nice shots but could never finish.

Taylor looks dialed in. Wow. A few crisp shots for TDs. Two great scrambles led to TDs. The cradle for 4 off a AZE shot was slick.

I was pretty harsh on Frank. Easy for me say eating ice cream and drinking some Icy Tea. Haha. I just get frustrated at most international wrestlers that are mainly defensive. Frank was in on that on nice shot and he ends up giving up one push out. That is a 3 point swing if he finishes. To me it just seemed he did not take enough shot attempts. I just thought he could have won that match. Again just my take.

And yeah DT is no joke!!!

Guy DT dismantled is an Olympic champ.

Match split 4-4 but USA won on strength of the 2 a TF and DQ.

Duals matter!

With Cox taking the year off (supposedly) and Dake back down to 74 this could be the year DT breaks through and grabs a world team spot. The way he's wrestling, World Championship Gold is within reach.

As long as Sadulaev moves up.

Yea, Sadulaev is a beast. I read that he's moving up to 97 however he didn't wrestle at Yarygin due to injury so I guess that's still an open question.

Another open question, will the Russian doping scandal impact his training? If so, maybe he moves down to 74 :D

The guy that JB wrestled, Suleymanov, is the same guy that Mark Hall beat at Junior Worlds in France (semis I think). He has to be one of the biggest head cases in wrestling. You can tell he is talented, but very shady tactics.

a little surprised we didn't see Garrett at all. I guess Ramos is safe. Won't give up techs.

Green loses 2-0 because he was put on shot clock twice. The Iranian didn't do anything the whole match!

I guess I'll just never understand freestlye wrestling. Green's opponent literally did nothing offensive the entire match. Grabbed Greens arm for 6 minutes and didn't let a very aggressive wrestler shoot at all. And Green got the two passivity calls. I am so thankful that in this country folkstyle is the way.

I believe the main ingredient here is the Iranian protected the middle of the mat. That is my guess on how they call it
