I'm still shaking. I can't believe Taylor just broke two Olympic champions within hours of one another.
57 Nico. 65. Zain 74. Dake 86. DT....Book it !!!!57 - hopefully Megaludis
61 - Stieber
65 - seems open now with Molinaro struggling, door could be open for Zain possibly
74 - Burroughs (though Dake may beat him out here)
86 - Taylor or Cox
97 - Snyder
125 - ??? hopefully Gwiz figures it out
I'm still selfishly disappointed that Pico quit wrestling so prematurely.65 - seems open now with Molinaro struggling, door could be open for Zain possibly
Stop that. I keep agreeing with you.57 Nico. 65. Zain 74. Dake 86. DT....Book it !!!!
Yes Nolf would give Dake all he can handle and more !!!! I agree....I must have missed where Dake beat Burroughs, competed at the World Cup, or even traveled with the team.
But, if Burroughs is vulnerable 3 years from now (we'll see, this was his first competition in 6 months), Dake is by no means a lock to beat out the field containing Dieringer, Martinez, Hall, Nolf, and several others.
easy now... pretty good weight difference among other thingsYes Nolf would give Dake all he can handle and more !!!! I agree....
also think it showed Frank isn't a fluke. he can hang with the big boys as wellThis tournament was about DT: This was the breakthrough, and he has now started his mission. Pure victory today! Congrats David. Awesome performance
Dake very well may not beat Burroughs, but we did just see him totally crush Dieringer a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't even competitive. Not saying Dieringer can't close the gap but it's quite sizable between them right now.
This year, agreed. Original point was 2020, and that's way out there to call for Dake vs. the field with certainty.Dake made a 3-time champion look like a jv wrestler in that match. Doubt IMar would have any more success. Two man race at 74 this year.
Rerun is as awesome as it was live. Love how it was a tale of two matches, each stoppage tilted the scales a bit more in DT's direction, from being pushed all over the mat to where you know he's going to beat him. His takedown at the end of the first period was key in planting some doubt in Yazdani's mind, I think.
The handfighting and the effort to bull Taylor OOB exhausted the Iranian and then as DT went behind and the battle to break him down for the 2 instead of 1 was huge.Rerun is as awesome as it was live. It was a moment made for Byers: "HOW DO YOU DO DAVID TAYLOR!!"Thought Taylor was gonna rip the ref's hand off with that handshake. Yazdani, umm, did not expose himself to that risk.
Everyone need to get on NBC big time for not showing these matches....Check out the page on flo.....They MUST hear from all the fans....Wish there was a Nation wide wrestling board to tell everyone not just people hear....The more people the better for the next worlds Tournament....
For what? Not sending a TV crew to cover an event that nobody would watch because they're all in bed or (for the finals) at work?Everyone need to get on NBC big time for not showing these matches....Check out the page on flo.....They MUST hear from all the fans....Wish there was a Nation wide wrestling board to tell everyone not just people hear....The more people the better for the next worlds Tournament....
A nation-wide message board is obviously what's needed to convince a kazillion dollar multi-national corporation to cover single event when simple supply and demand economics fail to.Nationwide wrestling board.
My oh my, that would be themat.com.
Aren't they still discussing ESPN broadcasting a national dual tournament and the millions of dollars the wrestling world will see.
Well, it did convince Cael and Co. to pull the shirt.A nation-wide message board is obviously what's needed to convince a kazillion dollar multi-national corporation to cover single event when simple supply and demand economics fail to.
True... but a national media outlet could hype an event enough to draw interest. For example, the NBA with ESPN). All talk shows, commercials, on air is all about the NBA (cause they have a stake in it). It's a risk, but one (media outlet) could do it. Look at ESPN in the 80's - pretty cool caused they covered a lot of sports... look at them now.. nothing but NFL, NBA, a little baseball and predominantly major market coverage (unless a team is unreal)... I was hoping the new fox sports channel would start on a similar path and keep with it. Sometimes, if you show it, they will come! Also, making a good return is OK if that is your expectations and you are reliable.A nation-wide message board is obviously what's needed to convince a kazillion dollar multi-national corporation to cover single event when simple supply and demand economics fail to.
