Wrestle Stat lineup

There is a logical explanation.

The results started out coming from the straight up ELO model. This model works well for chess, but requires 14 matches for a competitor's ranking to make sense.

And, despite the inordinate amount of time this whole site must take to manage (for donations), people bitched.

Andegre and Obrats listened, made changes despite the free work they're doing, and the results got better. Maybe not perfect, but better. And, people bitched.

Those guys follow these boards, and have listened and adjusted. However, they are keenly aware that an adjustment to "correct" any of your complaints also affects every other result. If they make you happy, it might turn other predictions a "wrong" way. They have thousands of fans scrutinizing their results, and they're just two guys, doing this for the love of the sport. They spend shit tons of time with all of the other stuff that their site is capable of. I doubt they have time to tweak the algorithm, run the result, then scrutinize every last prediction to see if it's going to make sense to every fan.

I'll leave you with two final thoughts.
1. The data is available. The ELO mathematics is available. Do your own and tweak away to your heart's content. We'll look forward to your results.
2. Wouldn't it be great if they would tweak the algorithm until it looked exactly like every other ranking service?
3. Be thankful for what they provide and send them a donation.

Well, that's three final thoughts. Maybe my algorithm is bad.
You must have skipped the part of my post where I said I DONT CARE AND ARENT UPSET.

If you think they arent profitting from Wrestlestat, then you musta landed on your melon when you fell from that tree. Keep clickin.

I didn't miss anything. My post wasn't necessarily only directed at you, since you're obviously not the only one to complain about it.

I'll bet they're making MASSIVE BANK on the few thousand wrestling fans that click on the site six months out of the year. How much do you suppose advertisers pay for a niche sport site?

To be fair..Flo's rankings do suck. Wrestlestat is the best tool we have, people don't understand Wrestlestat uses an ELO system for a career and not just last year which many people in this thread have explained in a much better way than I ever could.

while I like your explanation, why on earth would I spend time doing the math, or bitching about the formula, when I could be doing something else (like sending them a small donation for their work), or just looking at their results, adjusting by my mental, non-mathematical, and often incorrect gyrations, and telling them thanks for a starting place?
