Rule change wishlist for 2025/6

PS - of course there would be an exception to the rule, called the Anthony Robles exception, for inventory reasons.

I definitely dislike one knee in neutral position, but I am surprised there is not a lot of support for the fleeing the mat change. That one is so much more frequent and drives me nuts since in theory the rule is already in place, it's just the refs simply let it slide 95% of the time.
I agree on you with the fleeing, too, but the kneeling definitely aggravates me more. When a wrestler with a single is pulling a guy back in by his foot and the guy is obviously fighting to go out of bounds, that should be called much more often. The more exciting counter to that that doesn't involve fleeing is the dive and roll to grab the other guy's ankle and get into a scramble position. Let's encourage that.

netflix drops "Full Swing" tomorrow

To be honest, outside of golf fanatics, I don’t think many people would recognize a golfer if they ran into them on the street.
probably true. On the other hand, you small community is hosting the PGA Championship (one of four annual majors), you've volunteered/paid to direct traffic to that event and hours after arresting the number one player in the world you don't know who he is?

Sorry, I can't wrap my head around that.

Roar’s Annual Big Ten Seeding Review: 2025

Can you venture a guess why there is no transparency by the Big 10 on how the seeds are done. There is certainly a seeding committee and they sit down and evaluate everything. But what do they evaluate? Is more weight put on head to head competition or overall conference record or is it simply a vote by the coaches. And why all the secrecy? What is the possible value to the Big 10 and to wrestling in general by not being transparent?
Hopefully it's not based on certain coaches saying their guy has more skills.

Roar’s Annual Big Ten Seeding Review: 2025

Haha, I wish they would!!

In answer to the question from CantThink, it's as simple as Dice put it above, that the seeds are decided on a vote from the Big Ten coaches. Not very transparent though, as we won't see the voting. There really is no "criteria", so coaches (I doubt the voting is always done by each the head coach themselves) could simply look at the national rankings and pull out the B1G guys in their ranking order, or do it some other way. Doubt anyone is putting in much time, given how much work there is to do this time of year preparing for the postseason.

Maybe but with the proposed set up, there aren't going to be many games between the Big Ten/SEC and the ACC or Big 12. So you can end up having a highly ranked ACC team like Clemson or SMU that could even go undefeated without really playing anyone. They could end up competing for one of the byes.

OK ST @ Iowa - Feb 23

You guys act like he was on his knee the entire match. As soon as the opponent makes contact, he's off his knee and in the tie up and that's where all his offense was. He outshot Plott like 6-0 and got to legs 3 times. He didn't back out of bounds.

For years, you all whined that "pushing isn't offense" and you were right. Plott had plenty of opportunities to try to score and just wasn't able because Angelo was better.
You can't shoot on someone who is constantly kneeling. Angelo was the better wrestler in that match, I'm not arguing that he wasn't, but the kneeling needs to be called. It's stalling and nothing else. Thankfully, he did get called for it against Starocci and it cost him the match (that match was really egregious with the kneeling and backing up for the entire first 2:30), but the call needs to be made automatic and take the judgement out of the hands of the refs. It's not that hard. Don't kneel if you're not tied up. It doesn't help you, it's just stalling.

Takedown tactics for a guy on one knee?

It should be stalling. But you can't let a guy work from space on one knee. You need to put hands on him to force him up with snaps, clubs, and pushes. This will make him come up. Blast doubles, blast body doubles will also make him think twice about going to a knee. But you also can't PLOTT straight forward and not know he is going to sweep a single. Also once you figure out which leg he likes to sweep to, you would also learn from that...

OT Apple Air Pods Pro Hearing Aids

Thanks for posting, OKLionFan. This is very useful to me. I have perfect hearing in my left ear but am totally deaf in my right ear. My right acoustic nerve was destroyed by a radiation treatment about 20 years ago. This presents big problems for me in certain situations. When I find myself in quiet rooms I have no problem at all hearing or communicating with others. However, when there is ambient noise (like at a restaurant that plays background music or say a bowling alley) my left ear gets overwhelmed by the loud ambient noise and I can't hear others when they speak to me unless I put my left ear almost against their face!! My ear docs have suggested that I try a device that puts a hearing aid in my bad ear and then the sound that enters this hearing aid is routed to my good ear. Thus, my one good acoustic nerve would receive sound directed to both ears. Could the Air Pods be setup in this fashion? Could the right Air Pod send the sound it receives to the left ear?? Just wondering. Thanks again for posting and good luck to you.

Yesterday Apple released IOS 18.1 which contains the software to use Air Pod 2 Pros as hearing aids. I believe the minimum requirements are iPhone 15 or greater with this update and Air Pod2 Pro ear buds. I downloaded the software and went through the setup process which was relatively easy. My initial reaction after 24 hours is mixed. I'm getting way too much amplification on very low sounds. I can hear silverware touching the plate, light switches and the latch click when you turn a doorknob. This is unneeded and very annoying. The speech, TV etc is pretty good, the noise cancellation has two levels, one is good the other is outstanding. I'm still figuring everything else out and will report any significant findings. One of the things I want to do is to retake the hearing test, to see if maybe I missed a tone that is causing certain frequencies to be over amplified. I also think you can add an existing hearing aid test done elsewhere, but haven't had the time to try this. Based on the cost if you already use an I-phone vs the cost of hearing aids with similar technology these look like a no brainer value. Has anyone else that uses hearing aids tried this software yet? What are your thoughts?
