Last year the issue was we couldn't get chunk plays. Now this year it's we don't score enough even though we have plenty of chunk plays. It's been a tale of two halves, with most scoring in the second half. I think the offense will actually put a complete game together instead of just a good second half, and that will be the difference. I hope so, at least.I've called for PSU to make the playoffs from day 1, just not a win over OSU. That team has a much bigger payroll and history isn't on our side.
I understand that OSU has some OL issues and they looked weak vs Nebraska so I give PSU a 30% chance to win.
The betting line suggests OSU will win something like 24-21.
OSU is only giving up 12 pts per game so far this year and the only time we've scored more than 34 pts is vs Kent State.
I'm concerned about being without Allar & Sutton but I do think we have chance at home. IMO a PSU win would look more like 24-20.
I don't disagree with anything that has been stated, however this is no longer a 4 team playoff. winning this game can be important for our team from a psychological perspective.Absolutely. As far as the "wrong end" thing, don't you think some of that has to do with "nerves," playing "tight," etc., mainly because the team themselves perceives that beating OSU is like climbing Mt. Everest? The bad ref calls for OSU are the icing on the cake.
This. Everything appears to be there for Penn State but they just can't win the big ones.
If Penn State was in the SEC, Franklin would've been fired years ago (except at Vandy!). Alabama would not put up with consecutive years of losses to Auburn, and vice versa. Frankly, if OSU would get into a losing habit against Penn State, I suspect OSU would kick Day to the curb.
That's exactly what happened. Prices were about $600/ticket for the cheapest seats for a long time before the event. Tickets dropped about a week before the event to about $300/ ticket. This is when I bought. Tickets continued to drop until the day of the event, when many were getting in for $20/ session. That did not happen when NCAAs were in Pittsburgh. In fact, just the opposite happened.
