Recruiting other team's commits

A non-compete like that is only as good as a school's willingness to enforce it in court.

For football and basketball, maybe. For wrestling, not a chance, too little return on the attorney costs.

And if the kid declines or refunds the original school's money, then what standing does the school have?

After all of that, the schools would still have to win the cases. That's hardly a given.
All I know, something has to be initiated to stop the separation of the haves and have nots.
The NCAA shut down SMU years ago for what is the norm now .
A smaller size program hits a couple of home runs on recruits in basketball or wrestling and doesn't get to see the long term results. It truly is not what is fair to the coach, the fan base or the overall dynamic of College Sports.
I'm not nieve to think this situation just started. Outside of the Academies and maybe Ivy League Schools this situation has been around for years. Now it involves a couple of more zeros on the end of base number for the"student" athlete.🤨

Do we go to #2?

Hmm, based on your behavior, I thought sports boards were supposed to be about crying when discussing opinions on various issues, running away and putting everyone on ignore if their opinion differs from yours. You learn something new every day.

Which QBs have looked "great" this year?
Question for you, Perfect Pitch. Were you born an asshole or was that an acquired skill that you cultivated over the years? You are the Ultracrepidarian of Ultracrepidarians.

Georgia manhandled Texas last night. Georgia and Texas would easily beat PSU ... OSU and Oregon would beat PSU... I said 5-9 is where PSU would land. I will stand by that. Miami, Clemson, Tenn LSU.. There are a handful of teams right there and you can make arguments for all of them. PSU is in that bunch.
Georgia and Texas would easily beat PSU based on what? Would PSU beat Kentucky? If so, then your argument for Georgia is lame. And since Georgia crushed Texas, that doesn’t give much weight to your Texas argument. There is not a team out there at this point that can be definitively put ahead of PSU except maybe Oregon.

Anyone else stoked to see Army and Navy both undefeated and ranked?

'Kay, and?

My joke was a playful jab at the commentary that the introduction of NIL will destroy the competitive landscape of college football, enabling only the well-heeled NIL producers to function properly. It had nothing to do with salaries of service academy graduates vis-a-vis other opportunities.
Your unfunny “joke” was an inadvertent admission of what we have been saying all along. The new college football landscape will be the SEC vs Big Ten professional model and the remaining schools who can’t compete will be left to fend for themselves as something like we saw in traditional college football with student athletes. It remains to be seen whether they will survive or go the way of University of Chicago.

Think we could beat Indiana?

I’ve followed Cignetti for a while now. My nephew’s son played for him at IUP. I watched him play some games there. A couple of observations about Cignetti. I never saw him make a bad in-game decision. Or have confusion on the sideline. His teams play smart and are disciplined. And he is VERY good with transfers. Especially with transfer QB’s. Every spring at IUP Cignetti would bring in transfers from Division I that would help his team. He’s done that everywhere he’s been. The transfer portal has been a gold mine for him. He worked it very well at JMU and in his first year at IU he worked it like a master. For as long as he will be at Indiana University Cignetti will do well there if for no other reason than the portal. Plus he’s whip smart.
Cignetti is from Pittsburgh originally?
What high school, do you happen to know?
