Yeah...brutal. It was a compound fracture meaning the bone went through the skin. They had to do surgery in Dallas to stabilize the leg and stop the bleeding. I always wonder what they will do now. Will they fly him back to Detroit for the later surgery and rehab? I am assuming more surgery will be needed but maybe they just did it in Dallas. Although I would think he and Detroit would want their own surgeons.
I would rather have surgery in Dallas. Not only is Dallas a top very modern city with great medical facilities but home of the Cowboys who have to have top surgeons on call.
And if there was arterial or nerve damage quick surgery is critical.

During the game when we were down by two scores on the road, I remembered Joe's quote, "You learn more about your team when they face adversity than when things are going well." We passed that test on Saturday.
Disappointing. This is the kinda guy that you have when your team has “no depth” and big “big drop after the 1’s. Considering we already had 10 3 stars - just way too many stretch recruits for a team ranked #3 in the country.
One thing that 86 D had that we will likely never see again. A lot of seniority including 5th year SRs. We had some cowboys on that team….Trey Bauer immediately comes to mind, but they were smart and MOSTLY disciplined. That’s the reason we beat Miami. We had the experience and maturity to be able to essentially install an entirely new defensive scheme for the bowl.
This year's team doesn't have LBs like Conlan, Bauer, and Giftopolous. They also don't have the discipline those guys had. But you never know. That's why they play the games.
