Spencer Lee - what am I missing?

Yes - yet another Spencer thread... and apologies in advance as i'm sure this was covered ad nauseam ever since Spencer laced up his shoes as a toddler.......but i'm seeing a lot of "PSU projected lineups" that assume Spencer is coming to the good side... And as much as I am trying to be as subjective as possible, what am I missing?

I know we all of course want Spencer Lee in the PSU fold... But it seems all the more clear from everywhere that I'm reading (mostly on these boards) that he's all but a sure PSU signee.. - If we take out our "PSU-Bias", is there something I'm missing about why Spencer signing with PSU isn't going to happen?.. - It seems that its been a 2-horse race between Iowa & PSU.. - But looking at Iowa's recruiting class - getting Mejia and Renteria doesn't make much sense if they were holding out for Spencer. - Both from a roster POV & $$.

Assuming below projected 125 rankings are correct -

1) Spencer Lee (JR) - ??
2) Justin Mejia (JR) - IOWA
3) Ramon BY (Soph) - ??
4) Austin DeSanto (JR) - ??
5) Jason Renteria (JR) - IOWA
6) Brandon Cray (SR) - Maryland
7) Nick Raimo (FR) -

From Spencer's POV - he probably shouldn't and wouldn't care who he would be sharing 125 with.. But from the school's perspective, it seems like PSU is ALL IN on Spencer.. And if PSU isn't, who else are we going after that could fill in for Suriano as he moves up.?

What am I missing? (besides the fact that we all are hinging our bets on a 17 year old to make the biggest decision of his life;) -

btw.. if and when we get Spencer and regardless of how Suriano plays out - I'm going to always miss and think about our Nico...True Champion in every sense, regardless of the hardware.

Salute to the Champions.. All the respect and admiration to those who made it happen.. starter, not starter, coach, family, friend and fan.... championships don't happen by accident.. its a collective effort done mostly when the cameras are off... - WE ARE..

Weight Changes Next year...

Let's here everyones thoughts about who will move up, or down, next year?

I see the following: 133: Gulibon moving down to 133, NaTo moving up to 133.
141: No changes...maybe Taylor from Wisconsin or that guy from N Dakota State, very long, both of them.

149: Heil possibly moving up, only because he might not be able to hold 141...of course if he moves up he knows what is waiting for him, so that could very well force him to pull weight again next year.

157: Sorenson possibly moving up, although he also knows he is in a position where he's damned if he don't, damned if he does...

165: I cannot see Imar being able to hold 157 for one more year, just cannot see it.

174: Both Isaac and Bo Jordan are possibles here, due to Martin moving up next year to 184.

184: I also cannot see Martin being able to hold 174, he was immense at 174 to begin with as a freshman. Of course he knows Dean is waiting, so we might see another year of battles with Nickal v Martin...and Martin is very good, but he knows he got fortunate last night. This ain't Dake/Taylor, Martin lost the first three to Bo, and one of them wasn't close. Rasheed to 184 also to battle it out with Mouse for the spot, iron sharpens iron.

197: Dean ain't moving anywhere with that freak Cox waiting, and Cox isn't going anywhere with Snyder waiting. Sammy Brooks is a possible though, to head up here.

Hwt: Not sure who is heading up here, but one look at Cox and I have zero clue how that guy gets down to 197. MacIntosh's second round opponent though, that dude was a HOUSE, can't see him staying at 197.

Mythbusters.....

1) Bubba hates Cael...debunked...see yesterdays tweet
2) Cael could only win with the double class ....debunked....see 2016 trophy
3) Ruth and DT were once a generation type scorers.....debunked ....see nolf, nickal and add a zain
4) Cael wins only with top 10 talents.....debunked....see Conaway and the former English/Brown/Lawson

Myths still out there.....
1) the NLWC is actually a paramiltary organization
2) Willie is secretly a PSU recruitor
3) the PSWC loans out its IT people to Flo during the offseason, cause they have the best tournament site on the web
4) Cael cant coach

Dear HR Posters; re Nico

Dear Hawkeye Report Posters,

I get that you are disappointed about Thomas Gilman’s loss in the finals. I even get that you wanted another stalling call in the third period against Nico. Nico wasn’t about to be aggressive with that lead and risk a repeat of what happened to him in the finals against Delgado.

But the over the top besmirching of Nico’s reputation by suggesting that he is a staller is uncalled for and incorrect. I don’t have the exact statistic but I am certain that during the entire season Nico was called for stalling fewer than five times. In sixteen dual matches he scored 72 takedowns while yielding 1. The facts simply contradict your assertions.

If Thomas or Corey achieve their goal as seniors next year, you will understand the joy that we feel over Nico, after second, second, and third finishes, finally having his unbelievable hard work pay off. He is an outstanding young man, a great student and an aggressive wrestler who is always moving forward in wrestling and in life.

Too funny, ESPN in their closing shots shows 2 Cornell wrestlers, Ringer, Gwiz, Montana guy...no PSU

Pretty laughable considering that PSU has finalists in half of the finals, leads the team race by over 30 points, etc... ESPN are such @ssholes about PSU, they've done everything they can to low-ball how badly PSU and Pennsylvania wrestlers are dominating this Tournament and tonight's session. ESPN is run by lowlife douchebag's -many of them jealous dicks from SorryExcuse and other "little brother" former Eastern Independent Majors in the Northeast. Didn't show a single PSU finalist in their closing shots despite PSU having 5 finalists??????

NCAA Session 6 Thread

5 PSUers in Championship bouts, and the team title already locked up. Pretty hard to top that.

Post your comments, reactions, frustrations, thoughts, etc. about the matches.

As has been my tradition for past NCAA threads, I will not be posting PBP of the finals. My apologies to those that are not able to watch the matches on ESPN, but I've done my duty getting us through the previous 5 sessions. I'm going to sit back and watch these matches. I'll post the scores, unless someone beats me to it. If you can't watch the TV broadcast, then either tune in to the Audio stream, or point your browser to the PSU Wrestling twitter feed. Links to both can be found in my pinned post at the top of this board.

Here's hoping we see a lot of PSUers getting their hands raised tonight.

Let's have some fun!

OT: Brushes with greatness, who are some famous people and athletes you have met?

Any Opinions....

I met Barry Bonds in Pittsburgh in 91, actually ran into him downtown, he was pretty cool. One of the reasons I think he used cause word is he turned into a total jerk. Got an autograph from him.

Ran into Cal Ripken in Baltimore at the airport about 5 years ago. Best guy I have ever met. Totally cool and took his time to take pictures with pretty much everyone.

Played hockey with a few Pens back in the late 80's at old Golden Mile. Phil Bourque was very cool and showed us a few things/
