Jimmy wins by tech fall over Gasca... who here thought that was going to happen coming into the tourney?
141 R1: Gulibon vs. Javier Gasca III (MSU)
Really hope this is a good start for the Nittany Lions

Jimmy reaches, nothing. Jimmy snaps the head down and spins around behind for the TD. Stoppage for Gasca (injury or blood?) with 2:33 left. Jimmy elects to start down. He's up and out, 3-0. 2:25 left. Jimmy stuffs the head, and a stalemate at 1:42. Jimmy tries a throw by, nothing. Ear to ear, Jimmy spins around behind for the TD with 53 sec left, 5-0. Jimmy working a tight waste and wrist, but can't turn him. End.

Jimmy defers, and Gasca takes neutral. Jimmy in on a single and gets the TD, 7-0, with 1:34 left. RT goes over 1 min. Jimmy is cranking, and gets 2 NF, 9-0. Stall warning on Gasca with 25 sec left. Gets a tilt near the end, got 1 swipe, then a new 1 swipe, but time round out.

Jimmy takes neutral. Jimmy grabs a knee, and works behind for the TD with 1:36 left, 11-0. RT at 2:37 and climbing. Jimmy cuts him, 11-1, with 1:07 left. RT over 3 min so it's locked. Gasca shoots, Jimmy counters for the TD, 13-1. He cuts him, 13-2. Jimmy in on a single for the TD, 15-2, and he cuts him, 15-3. Gasca in on a single, Jimmy battles and spins around behind and gets the TD, 17-3. With RT, it's a 18-3 TF!!!!!!!

Gasca didn't seemed too injured when he pinned Jimmy 2 weeks ago.

JB said happened after his match with Jimmy. He had a big black sling on his shoulder, didn't move it at all during the match. You could tell Gasca was really hurting.
Kolodzik in control of Diehl, should make an interesting 2nd round match for Jimmy this evening.
looking like no upsets in Thorn, McKenna matches. Good news for Jimmy's potential consi matches. Need Ashnault to beat Pletcher next round.
LemonPie could be right, could be wrong. I guess we will see next round how much, and everyone is a little banged up right now. Was right in LemonPie's wheelhouse to jump on the injury. Bottom line though, Gasca is just not that great and just shows flashes of being good at times (like at B1Gs). Throughout his career.
Plus, Jimmy did an excellent job of incorporating the strategy espoused by a certain poster on here (can't recall his name, haven't seen him posting in a while) of doing nothing until the 3rd period to defeat Gasca.

149: ZPain vs. Josh Maruca (ASU)
Per 1
Josh shoots and Zain with an easy counter for the TD, 2-0, and quickly tilts and gets 2 NF, 4-0. Zain really working the left arm. Gives that up and they go OOB with 1:56 left. Zain gives an optional start, 4-1. Zain pushing in, then spins behind near the edge, pulls Maruca back in, has him dancing and gets the TD, 6-1 with 1:24 left. RT over 1 min. Zain cuts him 6-2, with 1 min left. Zain in on a single, lifts, and gets the TD, 8-2. They are on the edge, he tilts him, and gets 4 swipes. End. 12-2 after 1

Zain takes down. Zain working up, back to base, Maruca is long. OOB at 1:42. Zain up, sits back, then spins around for a reversal, 14-2. Zain tilts him but doesn't get any swipes. Zain with a crossbody ride. Maruca not doing anything. They roll thru and Zain has him on his back, and gets 4 NF, 18-2. That's a TF at 4:55!!!!!!!

Nolf in quickly, somewhat blocked, Nolf back in, crazy scramble, and Nolf gets the TD, 2-0. He's working a cradle, but can't do anything with it. Nolf cuts him, 2-1. Bullard in, Nolf countering, they scramble, Nolf with a TD, and cuts him, 4-2. Double leg for a TD, 6-2. Missed a bit, and it's 8-3

Nolf takes down. Bullard puts a nice ride in with legs, but eventually he's out, 9-3. He gets a TD, 11-3, and then cuts him, 11-3. Hmm, not sure where I missed a point, but it's 12-4. End

Nolf out from bottom, 13-4, then gets a quick TD and cuts him, 15-5. Nolf in again, they scramble, but Nolf gets the TD, 17-5. He's working on the right side, nearly cuts him, and then he does, 17-6. Nolf back in and gets a TD (nearly had swipes), 19-6. ANd he cuts him, 19-7. Nolf in on a quick single, 21-7. He's working the left arm. With RT, it's a 22-7 TF!!!!!!
