2017 Recruiting Class Thread

Ha! Been waiting for Kelly to get back to his old tricks. Other schools do the research and relationship building and he expends little energy. Then he bets on the evaluations of others, and offers in the last weeks.

If this kid is stupid enough to believe that (he's) the ONE Notre Dame wanted all along; he's got a lot to learn!

Eh, if this is what Hippenhammer wants so be it. Not sure why anybody feels good about being someone else's scraps, but whatever.

And really, if that sounds harsh, that's what it is. They've known about him for a long long time, and a week or two before signing day they have a spot to fill so they reluctantly finally offer him. Where is this dude's self-esteem? It's not like he is a bottom feeder happy to get an offer from the big boys.

Penn State offer Palmer

Former Syracuse wide receiver commit Josh Palmer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) picked up an offer from Penn State.

Nittany Lions wide receivers coach Josh Gattis made the verbal offer.

Palmer de-committed from the Orange Friday.

He officially visited Tennessee this weekend.

He's slated to trip to UCLA this weekend. That visit and his potential January 27th official visit remain fluid.

One of those weekends Palmer could visit Penn State.

Palmer now has 15 offers and interest from Notre Dame.

The three-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 118 wide receiver and the No. 110 prospect in Florida in the 2017 class by 247SportsComposite.

The Crystal Ball reads 71-percent for UCLA and 29-percent for Michigan.

Coaches just started following Rutgers verbal 4* Bo Melton.
His lead recruiter just left Rutgers for NC State. Franklin started following Melton. Melton then started following Franklin, Moorhead and Gattis.

Did all that happen after he tweeted this?

As I remember CJF was after this kid early in the 2017 cycle.

It's not over till it's over....

With CJF, the last few weeks before signing day should always be fun for PSU fans.

Rutgres fans deserve having what's left of their heads explode. Their last 4 star recruit following PSU coaches on twitter now would be fun, no matter the outcome. It's the thought that counts!

Rutgers also had 2 recruits decommit and a coach leave on Sunday, so it was a good day.

....according to Rivals.com. Penn State currently sits with the No. 9 overall class for 2017.

We will have more on Castro-Fields soon, but initial reports suggest that the visit went well and that a final decision is likely to come down between PSU and Maryland. He’s expected to make his announcement Jan. 23.

WR Mark Webb of Archbishop Wood in Warminster, Pa. The Georgia commit is eying an official visit to Penn State for Jan. 27.

The next few weeks will certainly be interesting. PSU is currently at 87 scholarship players once you include Journey Brown and former walk on Josh McPhearson. This does NOT include either Smith or Davis.

I'd be surprised if McPhearson was still on scholarship by the time the 2017 recruits arrive on campus this summer. I think he's just using one of the extra scholarships vacated by the seniors/draft departures for the spring and summer semesters.

I also think we're going to see some transfers and/or some players removed from the team over the next few weeks.

They get a free trip to the college and wined and dined and they will treat u like a king. When your 18 yrs old it is probably a big deal to get to do life experiences like that . Just because we don't like it means nothing.

If he flips, ok. I don't usually have a problem with these kids flipping. What gives me heartburn is when they do it within weeks of NSD and we can't do anything to minimize the impact. When it comes to recruiting, I hate the month of January.
Yea me too. Doesn't make sense to flip with little time to make sure your making the right decision. Almost like they panic before signing day
